    A West Midlands MEP has announced he is standing to become the next leader of UKIP.

    Bill Etheridge has called himself the party's "libertarian candidate", and is aiming to succeed Paul Nuttall, who quit as leader after poor results in the general election.

    Researchers spoke to 165 people aged between 16 to 24 and looked at how they interacted with the NHS through digital communication.

    The mayor of the West Midlands has officially launched his mission to bring broadcaster Channel 4 to the region.

    Channel 4, currently based in London, could move outside the capital after the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport launched a consultation., external

    The Met Office says "two waves of thunderstorms are expected to affect the West Midlands on Thursday, external".

    West Midlands metro mayor Andy Street has been talking about the channel moving its headquarters to the area, whether that be Birmingham or Coventry - as both cities bid to host the media channel.

    The Godiva Festival's been named as the best festival in the West Midlands.

    It picked up the accolade at this year's Midlands Awards, just two days before it opens at the memorial park for a 20th year.

    The 18th Godiva Festival, external took place last year at Coventry's War Memorial Park despite the possibility of cuts from the council's budget.

    Despite the council saying there was "no budget" it said the economic boost of about £1.7m outweighed the £314,000 cost.

    A bid to try and woo Channel 4 into bringing its headquarters to the region is being made today.

    The West Midlands Combined Authority claims the move could add £5bn to the local economy.
