    A Coventry firm has created a new, world-first form of plastic that they claim could revolutionise the way limb conditions and injuries are treated.

    torc2 Ltd - based at the Bilton Industrial Estate - has developed the new material which is not only flexible and durable but can be re-shaped at temperatures safe for patients.

    The compound was originally designed to replace Plaster of Paris casts but is instead being adapted for use as supports for the treatment of cerebral palsy, hip dysplaisa and idiopathic toe walking.

    Warwickshire all-rounder Rikki Clarke is to leave Edgbaston at the end of the current season, external, the club has announced.

    The 35-year-old is to join Surrey on a two-year-deal following the expiry of his contract.

    He joined the Bears from Derbyshire in the 2008 season and has won all domestic competitions with the club.

    A disability cricket team from Warwickshire is preparing to take on the national side.

    The Warwickshire Super 9's will face the England physical disability team at Alcester and Ragley Cricket Club on Sunday July 30.

    The side go into the fixture after suffering a loss to Derbyshire earlier this month.

    The number of thefts of heating oil in the West Mercia and Warwickshire police areas has been falling over the past three years, figures have revealed.

    They dropped from 149 in 2014 to 39 last year, with the majority of those thefts reported in Shropshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

    That trend ended in the first six months of 2017, with 48 thefts being reported to police so far this year.

    The chief executive of Warwickshire-based car giant Aston Martin says the government needs to support the automotive industry's move to electric engines.

    Andy Palmer told the Financial Times that part of the industry "could be destroyed" if the assistance provided is insufficient.

    The move is all part of a bid to tackle air pollution.

    An acclaimed dancer from Coventry has been appointed as the lead principal dancer for the English National Ballet.

    Aaron Robison began dancing as a pupil at the city's Pattison's Dance Academy.

    The 31-year-old is now returning to the UK after stints in both Spain and the USA.
