    Alastair Cook and Joe Root hit centuries as England dominated West Indies on the first day of the inaugural day-night Test in the UK.

    Cook batted through the day for his unbeaten 153, sharing 248 with skipper Root, who made 136, as England racked up 348-3 at Edgbaston.

    The Midland Air Museum is celebrating its 50th year with a summer exhibition. The event at the attraction near Baginton, Warwickshire, is on for three weeks and features original artwork along with aircraft displays. When the museum first opened to the public it attracted 67 visitors. It now has more than 30,000 a year.

    Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service have released these pictures of a cabin fire yesterday.

    The service say they were called to Babe Ke Farm in Snitterfield.

    A portacabin and surrouding trees were on fire.

    A teenager missing from Beoley in Redditch, who officers are "extremely concerned" about, has links to Coventry, Warwickshire Police say, external.

    Cindy Worthington was reported missing on Monday evening.

    Warwickshire all-rounder, Chris Woakes, has been left out of the England side taking on the West Indies in the inaugural day-night Test at Edgbaston.

    England captain, Joe Root, said:"It's difficult when you have such depth in your bowling, we felt Chris Woakes wasn't quite ready.

  14. Man drowned at Crantock named as Oneil Dinpublished at 14:55 British Summer Time 17 August 2017

    A man who died when out swimming off the north Cornwall coast has been named as Oneil Din, a 27-year-old from Coventry.

    Numerous friends have paid tribute to Mr Din online, including from the church, the Great Commission Ministry, which said Mr Din was a member and said: "We thank you for your smiles and laughter."

    An inquest into the death of Mr Din was opened and adjourned at Truro City Hall this afternoon.

  15. Day-night Test: When the players get a breakpublished at 14:53 British Summer Time 17 August 2017

    Here's how today should, in theory, go down:

    • First session - 14:00 to 16:00
    • Lunch - 16:00 to 16:40
    • Second session - 16:40 to 18:40
    • Tea (or dinner...) - 18:40 to 19:00
    • Third session - 19:00 to 21:00

    Play can go on until 22:00 but the most likely close of play is 21:30.

  16. Man faces trial over historical sex offencespublished at 14:30 British Summer Time 17 August 2017

    A man will face trial charged with historical sex offences against three children.

    The 56-year-old, from Rugby, is due to appear at Warwick Crown Court next month charged with raping a girl aged between 13 and 15.

    Justice

    He is also charged with two counts of indecent assault on a girl under 16 and gross indecency with a girl under 16.

    The alleged crimes, in the 1990s and 2000s, also include taking an indecent photograph of a child and possession of an indecent photo.

    The man appeared before magistrates yesterday and was granted bail.

  17. Cricket: Inaugural day-night Test in Englandpublished at 13:38 British Summer Time 17 August 2017

    There's not long to go until the first day-night Test in England gets underway at Warwickshire County Cricket Club's ground.

    England have won the toss, and will bat first.

    Edgbaston is hosting the Test against the West Indies.
