    Wasps Academy player Tom Willis has been named as the captain for the England Under 18s side.

    The U18s are in South Africa on a development tour and play Wales tomorrow.

  2. Police record more than 100 crimes involving drones in three monthspublished at 16:35 British Summer Time 14 August 2017

    In the three months from 1 April to 30 June the police recorded more than 100 crimes involving drones over Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Warwickshire.

    The majority involved drones flying over properties, but there were also two reports of drones being shot at, seven of drones flying over prisons and one of a drone flying over a police station.

    Warwickshire Police recorded 30 incidents in that period and West Mercia Police 80.

    And there were reports of drones crashing into gardens and sports fields and one of an owner trespassing to recover their drone.

    Police in Warwickshire want to trace a 22-year-old man from Rugby in connection with a number of burglaries there.

    Police say Aiden Henry is thought to be in the Coventry area and is known to have links to Nuneaton.

    Warwickshire-based National Farmers Union says the cost of rural crime's gone up in the first six months of the year.

    Its research suggests the sum has risen by 20%, with tools, Land Rovers and livestock targeted by thieves.

  7. 'Threat to kill' arrests over woman's assaultpublished at 13:18 British Summer Time 14 August 2017

    Two people have been arrested on suspicion of assault and making threats to kill after a woman was knocked to the ground and left with facial injuries.

    She was sat on a bench at Bedworth Reservoir when, from the other side of the water, police said, a woman verbally abused her, then approached and assaulted her.

    The victim, in her 20s, was assaulted again when she tried to run away during the ordeal last Thursday afternoon.

    The arrested pair - women aged 42 and 20 - have been bailed.

    Warwickshire Police, external is appealing for witnesses.

    Work to improve drainage and make safer a Coventry junction has been prolonged because of an incorrect map, according to a city councillor.

    Broad Lane will now be shut for the next three weeks between Banner Lane and Hockley Lane while Severn Trent carries out pipe work.

    Jayne Innes, the cabinet member for city services, told us an incorrect map of the existing pipework is behind the problem.

    West Midlands Police says it has saved thousands of pounds by using electric cars.

    The force has 33 electric vehicles which officers use for appointments rather than 999 emergencies.

    Warwickshire's cricketers have kept alive their hopes of qualifying for the quarter-finals of the T20 Blast after an eight-wicket victory over Durham Jets at Chester-le-Street.

    It means Coventry sit a couple of points clear at the top of League Two.
