People opposed to a gas-fired power station in south Cumbria will meet later today to discuss their next steps.
Earlier this month, the developer Statera Energy was refused permission for the power station and battery storage facility at Old Hutton near Kendal. At the time, the company said it would "almost definitely" appeal against the decision.
This evening campaigners against the proposal are holding a public meeting at 18:30 at the Old Hutton village hall.

The man who leads the world champion Cumbrian rallying team M-Sport is set to be given the title of Honorary Freeman of the Borough.
Allerdale Borough Council is holding a meeting this evening to vote on awarding the title to Malcolm Wilson OBE in "in recognition of sporting excellence, services to the community and contribution to the borough through economic regeneration and tourism.''
Other people who have been honoured in the past include Lord Campbell-Savours and Mr Bill Lowther.

The Barrow and Furness Labour MP has met Home Secretary Amber Rudd to discuss what can be done to address failings in the Poppi Worthington case.
John Woodcock is calling for a public inquiry into the botched police investigation following the death of the Barrow toddler.
Speaking after the meeting he said: “I am pleased that the Home Secretary took time to see me tonight and made clear she recognises the community is reeling over Poppi’s death and the terrible failings that surround it.
“Mrs Rudd pledged to consider urgently what steps she can take in the light of yesterday’s verdict and asked me to work with her Home Office team to try to make any action she takes as effective as possible.
“Ministers always stress they cannot direct the Crown Prosecution Service who we are praying will look at the case in a fresh light following the coroner’s verdict, but the Home Secretary can act to help restore confidence in our policing system which has been badly damaged by this terrible affair.”

Wintry showers will move steadily eastwards as the day goes on and into tomorrow.
The will be the odd sunny spell, but it will feel very cold.
The showers will be very localised and could be heavy at times, especially on higher ground.
Maximum temperatures could reach 4C (39F) but it will feel much colder as wind speeds increase.

The Museum of Military Life in Carlisle has been given £50,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
The money will go towards events and activities based around the theme of "remembrance". This will include the museum's first Open Art Exhibition from May to September.
The Met Office has upgraded one of the weather warnings of snow to amber - it's second-highest alert.
This will affect north eastern parts of Cumbria and the North East. It's in place from 21:00 tonight until 05:00 tomorrow morning.

The England and Wales Cricket Board has agreed that Ben Stokes can now be considered for England selection.
The ECB said: "Given the CPS decision to charge him and two others with affray, confirmation of his intention to contest the charge and the potential length of time to trial, the board agreed that it would not be fair, reasonable or proportionate for Ben Stokes to remain unavailable for a further indeterminate period."
It added that he's expected to join the England squad in New Zealand for February's T20 matches.
He was initially named in England's squad for the Ashes but did not travel to Australia for the series, which the hosts won 4-0.

The Met Office has warned we could potentially see "very difficult conditions" overnight with 3cm to 8cm of snow predicted on lower ground and 10cm to 20cm over the higher ground - particularly over the North Pennines.
Alan Goodman from the Met Office says there could be "tricky times ahead" with a fairly lengthy period of snow which will particularly affect northern and eastern parts of the county.
He warns there could be "considerable disruption" to the road network.

A lack of experienced social workers in Cumbria means that incentives of up to £18,000 are on offer.
The county council is offering an allowance to move here - and more to stay.
Cumbria County Council advertises a £10,000 bonus as a "recruitment incentive" - with another £8,000 offered to help social workers relocate to the county.
In particular it's keen to hear from people who work with vulnerable children.

We are getting lots of reports this morning of the pavements being extremely icy this morning - so be careful if you're heading out.

Cumbria County Council says the following roads are closed:
There are reports of stranded vehicles on the A684 at New Hutton. Gritters have been informed and are on the way.
Police are advising to avoid any hilly roads between Kendal and Sedbergh due to the bad weather conditions.
