Derby County have handed a lifetime ban to a supporter who mocked the death of Billy Sharp's son.
The fan was tracked down by Rams officials after he tweeted abusive jibes at the Sheffield United striker when the sides met at the weekend.
Sharp lost his son Luey Jacob just days after he was born in 2011.
A statement from the Rams, external, who named the supporter as Jordan Byrne, said: "Byrne admitted that he was responsible for the posts which were published after Saturday's game at Bramall Lane.
"While he apologised for his actions, Derby County stand firm that behaviour of this nature is entirely unacceptable and requires strong action.
"Consequently, the club has imposed a lifetime ban on this individual which prevents him attending any Derby County games – home and away – with immediate effect."

Residents in part of Nottingham claim their homes have been infested with rodents since building work began nearby.
Houses have been demolished in Arkwright Street in The Meadows as part of a city council regeneration programme.
Resident Maggie Newton told BBC Radio Nottingham: "If you settle down to watch telly you get mice running round you.
"It is like a big problem, it is not just one or two houses."
Nottingham City Council said it does not believe the works are necessarily to blame and the authority insists it is only dealing with complaints of mice and not rats.
