The Duchess of Rutland says McDonald's could use pheasant meat in their burger and nugget meals if Rutland is to get its first branch of the fast food chain.
The county is the only one in the country not to have a McDonald's, and a council meeting later will decide whether or not it will stay that way.
A planning application for a drive-thru near Oakham triggered more than 50 objections, including claims the "unsightly" development would increase litter and impact on other traders.
Emma Manners, whose family home is Belvoir Castle, was invited on ITV's Good Morning Britain to talk about the plans.
She echoed residents' concerns, while admitting that she occasionally picks up a McDonald's take-away for her children from nearby Grantham.
In addition, she suggested the US chain could help ingratiate itself into the community by changing the meat in its products.
"[They could] put pheasant into their burgers or perhaps serve pheasant nuggets," she told presenters Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid.
Mr Morgan accused her of "snobbery" for the proposal.
Rutland County Council is due to consider the planning application at a meeting later today.

The chief constable of Derbyshire Police has said redundancies would have to be considered unless the force receives a significant increase in the funding it receives from council tax.
Peter Goodman has written to Derbyshire's police and crime commissioner Hardyal Dhindsa requesting an increase in its council tax precept of £10 per household per year - a 4.6% rise.
Mr Goodman said Derbyshire Police's reserves had been mostly spent and last year's Toddbrook Reservoir emergency had put extra strain on its finances.
He said if the government limited the precept rise to 2%, the force would be forced to find £3m of savings.
