A new coronavirus testing site has opened at Loughborough University.

The walk-in centre at Shirley Pearce Square has been open since Friday. It is only available to those who have Covid-19 symptoms.

It is "easily accessible without a car", the Department of Health and Social Care said.

It comes after cases in the Charnwood area rose significantly over the past few weeks.

The borough was recently moved into tier two restrictions prior to the announcement of national lockdown restrictions.

A Derby landlord says he is worried pubs and restaurants may not reopen in time for Christmas.

Jim Harris, who runs Ye Olde Dolphin Inne in Queen Street, spoke about the upcoming lockdown, which will see hospitality venues close until at least 2 December.

He said: "At some point something's got to give, things are changing daily and weekly, and we don't know whether we're going to open in December, or be locked down until January.

"We're just living day-to-day with it."
