    Two people have been charged after separate attacks on Nottinghamshire Police officers over the weekend.

    The force said there was an attempt to push an officer on Bailey Street in Nottingham on Saturday.

    On the same day another officer was kicked and spat at while responding to a report of an altercation in Market Place, Newark, suffering minor injuries.

    Both suspects have been charged with assaulting an emergency worker and will appear at Nottingham Magistrates Court on 7 September, police said.

    Also on Saturday a PCSO was bitten and punched while investigating a report of anti-social behaviour in Clifton. The officer needed hospital treatment for their injuries.

    A 34-year-old was arrested in connection with attempted grievous bodily harm and was also wanted on re-call to prison.

    Pharmacy chain Boots has become the latest high street brand to sign up with Deliveroo.

    The Beeston-based company has launched a 14-store pilot in cities across the country, including London, Edinburgh and Nottingham.

    Around 400 products will be available to customers on Deliveroo, including pain relief, vitamins and plasters.

    Other products will also include make-up, sandwiches, snacks, toiletries and baby essentials.

    Paula Bobbett, director of boots.com, said: "It will be super handy for times when you need something urgently but can't leave the house, like if you're feeling unwell or are looking after your kids.

    "Our online business continues to grow and this partnership offers our customers a way to access our products quickly and easily."

    Boots saw a continued rise in online sales during successive lockdowns, including an 85% jump on the website between March 1, 2020, and a year later.

    Homes in part of Chesterfield are without gas and eletricity this evening after a partial building collapse.

    Derbyshire Police said structural damage to a building in St Helen's Street meant "gas and electric supply needs to be cut off".

    Police officers used a Taser to help them arrest a man, external they were struggling to detain at a nightclub in Mansfield.

    Nottinghamshire Police said it happened at Lexis nightclub on Clumber Street at about 03:45 on Sunday after security staff tried to evict two men who had reportedly assaulted staff.

    Police officers were called to help but a 31-year-old man continued to resist arrest.

    The force said this left them "no option" but to use a Taser to subdue the man, who was subsequently arrested on suspicion of two counts of common assault.

    He and a 33-year-old man were also detained on suspicion of carrying a bladed article after a flick-knife was found at the scene.

    A man who abducted a child has been jailed for 47 months.

    Leicestershire Police said Kaywan Ahmed was issued with a Child Abduction Warning Notice in 2019 when he was with a 13-year-old girl at his home address.

    The conditions of the notice prevented Ahmed from communicating with the girl or allowing her to be in his company before she reached 18, but after officers were contacted last year they found evidence he had been meeting her.

    The 31-year-old, of Highfield Street in Leicester, was sentenced at Leicester Crown Court on Friday after he pleaded guilty to one count each of abducting a child along with grievous bodily harm and affray related to a separate incident.

    A man has been arrested after a police community support officer (PCSO) was bitten and then punched in the face in Clifton.

    Police said it happened when the PCSO was investigating a report of anti-social behaviour at a leisure centre on Southchurch Drive.

    The force had received a call at 09:30 on Saturday to a report of a man sleeping rough behind the centre, surrounded by drug needles.

    The suspect fled the scene but was found on Victoria Embankment just after midday following the deployment of armed response units, dogs and a drone.

    The 34-year-old was arrested in connection with attempted grievous bodily harm and was also wanted on re-call to prison.

    Police said the PCSO was taken to hospital for treatment.

    A lorry overturned in a crash on the M1 southbound, police have said.

    Emergency services were called to the three-vehicle collision on the M1 between junctions 28 near Pinxton, Derbyshire, and 27 near Annesley, Nottinghamshire, at about 09:45.

    The southbound carriageway was closed and drivers faced more than an hour of delays, Highways England said.

    The carriageway has now re-opened.

    A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said: "We believe it involved two cars and a lorry, and initially the lorry had overturned."

    The force said there had been reports of injuries but no-one was believed to have been seriously hurt.

    A man is in hospital undergoing treatment for head injuries after he was seriously assaulted in Leicester.

    Police were called to Saffron Lane just before 06:45 to reports of a man flagging vehicles and obstructing the road.

    The force said a 44-year-old man stopped his car and the suspect then attacked the driver, kicking him in the head a number of times.

    A police officer was also attacked while arresting the suspect, suffering facial injuries that needed hospital treatment.

    A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and assault on an emergency worker.

    Saffron Lane is closed between the junctions with Cavendish Road and Clifton Road while officers investigate.

    A man is in a critical condition in hospital after being knocked unconscious in Ruddington on Saturday.

    The force said the 28-year-old man suffered a serious blow to the head causing a significant bleed on his brain. He has been operated on and is now in intensive care.

    A 34-year-old man was arrested in connection with the assault and police are appealing for anyone who may have seen what happened to come forward.
