Proposals to develop Drake's Island off Plymouth are due to be decided by city council planners today.

Developers want to build a hotel on the island and say their plans would secure a thriving future for an area that has become run down.

The site is in a special area of conservation and the RSPB has raised concerns that development could be harmful to egrets which breed there.
