    A husband and wife who were friends of serial killers Fred and Rose West have been jailed for sexually abusing 10 children over a 15-year period.

    David and Pauline Williams were found guilty at Exeter Crown Court at an earlier hearing of a string of sex attacks on teenagers that started in Gloucester in the 1980s and continued when they moved to Devon in the 1990s.

    David Williams, 57, of Bradninch, Devon, was jailed for life and ordered to serve a minimum of 14 years. Pauline Williams, 53, also of Bradninch, was jailed for 12 years, and also ordered to serve a four-year extended licence after her release.

    A Cornish MP has urged the prime minister to choose Newquay as the UK's spaceport for satellite launches and space tourism.

    The MP for St Austell and Newquay, Steve Double, asked David Cameron when the process would move forward, adding: "Newquay Airport is the forerunner to be the location of the UK Spaceport."

    The Prime Minister said the selection process would be launched next year.

    "It's nice to put a bit of a run together and go onto the next game and do the same, There's a little bit of momentum building and it's up to us now to kick on," the former Preston winger told BBC Radio Devon.

    - Roadworks are causing slow traffic on the A39 in both directions between Carland Cross and the turn for Trispen junction

    Digital radio listeners in Plymouth should retune their sets because of frequency changes.

    The frequency for BBC Radio Devon on the city's radio multiplex transmitter has changed as part of a series of national changes to improve DAB services.

    The changes will not affect those receiving the BBC Devon service on FM, MW, online, or on the East Devon DAB multiplex, as this is a Plymouth local DAB frequency change only.

    -  The B3183 New North Road in Exeter is partially blocked causing slow traffic around the Blackall Road junction, because of an accident involving two vehicles.

    - One lane is blocked on the A380 Telegraph Hill southbound in Kennford around the A38 Haldon Hill junction, because of a fallen tree. Approach with care.

    - The A390 Holmbush Road in St Austell is partially blocked with delays around the A3082 Par Moor Road junction, because of a broken-down car.

    - The A38 in the Glynn Valley is partially blocked due to a broken-down dustbin lorry around the turning for Bodmin Parkway.

  19. Amputees prepare for Atlantic rowpublished at 12:39

    Two amputees from Devon are preparing to row across the Atlantic, marking the first time a full team of amputees have done so. 

    Lee Spencer and Cayle Royce are part of the  Row 2 Recovery team, which facilitates adaptive rowing for wounded British military. 

    Cayle underwent a double amputation and lost the fingers on his left hand following an IED blast in Afghanistan, while Lee lost his right leg below the knee after being hit by debris while saving the life of a motorist on the M3 two years ago.
