    The railway has flooded between Exeter St Davids and Barnstaple which means trains are unable to run between these stations. This is expected to continue until 18:00 National Rail Enquiries, external has said.

    Customer Advice:

    • You may use First Somerset, external buses on route 54 between Taunton (Bus Station) and Yeovil (Bus Station)
    • You may use Stagecoach, external bus routes 55, 55A and 55B between Exeter (Central) and Tiverton (Bus Station)
    • You may use Stagecoach, external bus route 155 between Exeter (Bus Station) and Barnstaple (Bus Station)
    • Road transport has been requested to operate but there is no estimate on availability at present
    • You are advised not to travel unless absolutely necessary.

    Plymouth Argyle striker Jimmy Spencer will miss at least three months after breaking and dislocating his ankle.

    The 24-year-old summer signing injured himself in training on Friday as he went to take a shot and will see a consultant this week. He joins Ryan Brunt and left-back Gary Sawyer as long-term absentees.

    "It's a huge blow, any players we have in the squad that are injured is very disappointing for us," manager Derek Adams told BBC Radio Devon.

    There are currently 18 flood warnings and 24 flood alerts in force in Devon, the Environment Agency says, external.

    Cornwall has seven flood alerts in place.

    Flood warnings mean that "flooding is expected and immediate action is required". Alerts mean flooding "is possible" and people should be prepared.

    • GWR is strongly advising passengers not to travel
    • Network Rail is inspecting the main rail line
    • The Tarka line is also closed
    • GWR says a replacement bus service is limited by the availability of buses and potentially hazardous driving conditions
    • The Barnstaple and Looe branch lines are also closed due to flooding 
    • Last night train passengers were stuck at Taunton because of the flooding

    Flooding between Liskeard and Looe means that trains are unable to run between these stations.

    Network Rail is currently inspecting the line and it is not expected to fully reopen until 15:00 today.

    Customer advice from National Rail Enquiries, external: Road transport will operate between Liskeard and Looe. Your ticket will be accepted on the replacement transport provided.

    Heavy rain has f, externallooded the railway between Exeter St Davids and Taunton. Trains between these stations are currently unable to run.

    A very limited Great Western Railway service will be able to run diverting via Yeovil.

    GWR said it anticipates the line will reopen by approximately 12:00.

    Wet weather is continuing to cause severe disruption this morning. 

    All train services have been suspended between Exeter St Davids and Taunton and between Exeter St Davids and Barnstaple due to flooding and damage to the line. 

    Network Rail says they don't know when the lines will be reopened. There'll be an inspection at first light.
