    Police say they've found an elderly man from Bude who went missing at the weekend, prompting an air and sea search. 

    Seventy-nine-year-old Michael Bond, who has dementia, was found in the Bude area shortly before 08:00. 

    He had been taken to hospital and was being treated for hypothermia, emergency services said.

    The cause of a huge gorse fire near Exeter is not thought to be suspicious, Devon and Somerset's chief fire officer says.

    At its height, about 20 fire engines plus support appliances were at the scene on Woodbury Common on Sunday. Five firefighters were injured, with one taken to hospital with burns and four others treated for smoke inhalation. 

    Crews have spent the night damping down at the scene. It's thought about 100 acres of heathland was destroyed. 

    Chief fire officer Lee Howell said that the firefighter taken to hospital was "fine and we're very pleased with that".

    Exeter Chiefs fly-half Will Hooley will join Championship side Bedford at the end of the season, the club has confirmed.

    The 23-year-old back has spent the past two years at Sandy Park, but has been restricted to just six appearances this season.

    A huge gorse fire on Woodbury Common near Exeter has resulted in a huge area of blackened countryside in east Devon.

    The fire spread across 100 acres of heathland and five firefighters were injured while tackling it. 

    Every now and then you can see a little puff of smoke coming up from the turf and from underneath the gorse. 

    There's a fire engine here keeping a eye out for any re-ignition of this fire.

    Investigations are under way after a serious fire at a hotel in Torquay in the early hours of Sunday.

    More than 100 young farmers were staying at the Bancourt Hotel while in the resort for their annual convention and had to spend the rest of the night sleeping on the floor at the Riviera Centre. 

    Three people suffered minor injuries.

    Police said the fire in the basement bar was deliberate and they were treating it as arson with intent to endanger life.

    Police say they are increasingly worried about an elderly man who has dementia and has gone missing in Bude.

    Michael Bond, 79, was last seen at Northcott Mouth Beach at about 15:00 on Sunday. 

    He's described as 6ft 2ins tall, slim, with grey hair and was wearing a blue fleck jacket and beige trousers.
