  1. Woodbury Common fire: The morning afterpublished at 07:35 British Summer Time 24 April 2017

    BBC Radio Devon

A huge gorse fire on Woodbury Common near Exeter has left a charred trail of damage across 100 acres of heathland.

Five firefighters were injured while tackling it. One was taken to hospital with burns and four others were treated for smoke inhalation.

Earlier, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service reported that only one fire appliance was still on the scene.

BBC Radio Devon's Richard Green has been there this morning, and reports that there are still small patches of smoke rising from the ground.
