Quote MessageWe've just won two British Pie Awards, a bronze for our steak and red rock ale and a silver for our chicken, ham and leek. We're really, really proud because it's took a lot of companies a lot of time to get to that position and we've done it within eight months. So we're really proud but it's been a lot of hard work."

Plans to use shipping containers as storage units on a site at St Columb Major have been approved by Cornwall Council.

Under the proposals, there would be 87 containers which would be rented out to people looking to store their belongings.
St Columb Town Council had objected to the plans as the site is at the entrance to the town and is a greenfield site.

Out-of-date distress flares should not be brought to sea safety events for disposal, a Cornwall coastguard rescue team says.
Falmouth Coastguard Rescue Team said, external "several members of the public" brought in such flares to a recent event, including some dated from the 1970s.
The team added that members were also concerned that such ordnance, which they did make safe, had been "kept in unknown conditions".
The team said some chandlers offered a disposal service in exchange for new flares for leisure boat owners; Devon and Cornwall Police could take them, as could the Falmouth Coastguard Operations Centre.
It added that commercial flares would not be accepted and such users should contact flare or safety equipment suppliers for disposal.
Anyone who spotted a flare washed up on the coastline should call 999 and ask for coastguards to dispose of it.
"It's important you don't attempt to touch or move an out-of-date flare, as they can be unstable when their environment changes suddenly," the team said.
