  8. Councillors sent 184-page document in the postpublished at 13:22 British Summer Time 18 May 2018

    Richard Whitehouse
    Local Democracy Reporting Service

A Cornwall councillor has called on the authority to find a better way of sending secure information after receiving a 184-page document in the post, just two pages of which were confidential.

Colin Martin, Liberal Democrat councillor for Lostwithiel, said he was surprised when the hefty document landed on his doormat this week.

He thinks an electronic alternative should be found as a way of saving money.

The paperwork is for next week's full council meeting and was sent to all 123 councillors.

    Quote Message

I was surprised to have to receive this whole document just because there are two confidential pages. If they did have to send out the pink papers then they could have just sent those without the rest which would have saved the council a couple of quid in postage. In 2018 we should be able to send documents securely electronically."

    Councillor Colin Martin
