Organisers of the Royal Cornwall Show say about 119,000 people passed through the gates of the Wadebridge showground this year - which was up on last year.

Show Secretary Chris Riddle said mostly good weather across the three-day event was one of the reasons the agricultural show attracted some 8,000 more visitors than in 2017.

Some show-goers were upset after getting caught up in heavy traffic leaving the showground on Saturday afternoon.

Rain affected play mid-afternoon and prompted a bit of an exodus from the ground.

Not surprisingly traffic built up in what some people on social media described as "chaos" and "a total shambles".

However, others took the attitude that it was what they'd expect from such a large event.
