    The A30 is closed eastbound between the A389 at Bodmin and the A395 at Tregadillet due to an accident, Highways England says.

    Traffic is being diverted by emergency services who are on the scene.

    Drivers in this area are advised to allow plenty of extra time for their journey.

    Totnes MP Sarah Wollaston has said she's "minded" to vote against the government on the first of two amendments to the EU Withdrawal Bill.

    It calls for Parliament to get a "meaningful vote" on any final deal struck between the UK and EU.

    The Conservative MP told BBC Radio Four's Today programme that she'd also like "further concessions" from the government on the customs union amendment.

    The Met Office has issued a yellow "be prepared" warning for heavy rain and thunderstorms this afternoon.

    The warning, which is valid from 13:00 until 19:00, is for much of Devon and Cornwall.

    • Homes and businesses could flood quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds
    • Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions
    • Transport could be disrupted by flooding or lightning strikes, including delays and some cancellations
    • There is a slight chance that power cuts could occur

    An American tourist who fell from a cliff in Cornwall this morning may have escaped serious injury after she got stuck in a patch of brambles.

    The woman was walking on the coast path at Portloe, on the Roseland Peninsula, when the accident happened just before 10:00.

    Her walking companion raised the alarm and she was winched to safety by a coastguard helicopter.

    She was treated by the Portscatho Coastguard Rescue Team for cuts and bruises she sustained from the brambles, but coastguards said the brambles may have prevented her from falling further.

    Police have given "polite" words of advice to a watercraft user who was travelling at speeds of 30 knots (35mph) on Sunday afternoon near the shore at Marazion in Cornwall.

    The RNLI said with lots of people and young children swimming in the sea, it could have potentially caused a "very serious accident".

    Poundworld is calling in administrators, putting thousands of retail jobs in doubt.

    In Devon, there are Poundworld stores in Plymouth, Exeter, Torquay and Barnstaple.

    The chain has only one branch in Cornwall, in Bude.

    Deloitte is expected to be appointed to oversee the administration. It will be hoping to sell the business as a going concern.

    Torquay United have agreed a new contract with forward Ruairi Keating.

    The 22-year-old (pictured) scored four goals last season as the Gulls were relegated to National League South - the lowest level of football the club has played since since before they were elected to the Football League in 1927.

    The Gulls have also brought in 21-year-old defender George Essuman.

    The former Norwich City, West Ham and Sheffield Wednesday youth player made one substitute appearance for Dover Athletic in the National League last season, and has had spells at Margate, Maldon and Tiptree United, Grays Athletic and VCD Athletic.

    Devon's cricketers are through to the semi-finals of the Minor Counties Trophy after beating holders Berkshire by 22 runs at Sidmouth.

    Batting first, Devon recovered from an awful start to record a total of 273-8.

    Opener Liam Lewis went for a duck off the second ball before his replacement Alex Barrow was sent back to the pavilion with the very next ball as bowler Tom Nugent almost got a first-over hat-trick.

    But a fourth-wicket stand of 98 by Ben Green (66) and Matt Thompson (53) steadied the ship before Zak Bess top-scored with 73 not out as Nugent ended with figures of 5-52.

    Berkshire started well in reply as Andy Rishton scored 50 as the visitors raced to 106-2 off 17 overs.

    But they lost the next four wickets for 43 runs and their final four wickets for 37 as Jack Popham and Toby Codd each took three wickets as Devon bowled out their opponents for 251.

    Devon, who will face Suffolk at Sidmouth in the semi-final on 1 July, could meet either Cheshire or Shropshire in the final.
