    Repairs are being carried out to a burst watermain in Totton which has left 140 homes in Totton without water.

    The busted piped was discovered by residents living on Jacobs Gutter Lane this morning. .

    Southern Water said it doesn't know when the pipe will be fixed due to its close proximity to gas and electric cables.

    The firm has delivered bottled water to residents and the local Hounsdown School, which has since closed because of the problems.

  11. M40 'noise reducing' barriers plan goes on showpublished at 16:31 British Summer Time 21 June 2017

    A £5 million plan to cut traffic noise for people living along an 11.5 mile (18.5km) section of the M40 in Buckinghamshire and South Oxfordshire has gone on show.

    Highways England wants to install new noise reducing barriers at eight locations along the motorway between Loudwater at junction 3 and Stokenchurch at junction 5.

    The proposals available to view online, external, and a public event will be held on 30 June in High Wycombe.

    Construction is due to start in the autumn.

    The noise reduction barriers are set to be installed at the following locations:

    • Stokenchurch
    • Wheeler End/Lane End
    • Booker Cressex
    • Daws Lea
    • Flackwell Heath
    • Loudwater
    • Wooburn Moor (north and south)

    The Queen's quick outfit change has left many punters stumped and bookmakers smiling.

    Her Majesty wore blue at the State Opening of Parliament but by the time she arived at Royal Ascot, she had changed into yellow.

    William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams said his betting firm had taken just 13 bets on yellow.

    He added: "After seeing the Queen wear a blue hat for her speech in parliament, many punters expected her to remain in her clothing for Royal Ascot.

    "However, they were left disappointed when she was seen in her procession in a yellow hat, the second favourite in our betting."
