    The husband of a Malvern head teacher has been given a 12-month community order after pleading guilty to harassing a woman. 

    Stephen Woodhouse, 65, of Barnards Green Road, whose wife works at Malvern St James Girls' School, admitted touching and trying to kiss the victim.

  3. Sports Direct fined over shop signpublished at 15:11 British Summer Time 21 July 2016

    Sports Direct has been fined £10,000 for continuing to display a large illuminated sign without permission at its Worcester store.

    The city council first prosecuted the company back in May for displaying the sign at its St Martin's Quarter branch without having the correct advertising consent.

    Charlotte Pidgeon, from the legal team at the council, said the firm had shown "a blatant disregard for the conviction handed down to them in May".

    Archaeologists have uncovered neolithic burial mounds under a farmer's field in Herefordshire.

    Three years ago the first dig on Dorstone Hill unearthed two "halls of the dead" dating from 4,000 BC.

    They've found evidence that for centuries our ancestors were travelling hundreds of miles to bring their loved ones to be laid to rest at the site.

    Four of the world's leading women’s wheelchair basketball teams will be taking part in a tournament in Worcester, less than 40 days before they compete in the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

    The GB Women's Team, the 2015 European bronze medallists, will take on London 2012 gold medallists Germany, 2014 World Champions Canada, the Netherlands, and France at the University Arena from 1-4 August.

    Thousands of people across Worcestershire have had their say over the county's healthcare services.

    About 4,500 people took part in the survey. 

    Healthcare bosses hope the results will help them understand what local people think about a number of proposals that could be considered in the future.

    Recent changes have seen maternity services moved from the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch to the Worcestershire Royal Hopsital.

    Four A&E consultants in Redditch and one in Worcester resigned en masse in February last year.

    Worcester City have announced they are to play a short-notice friendly match at Sutton Coldfield Town tomorrow evening.

    Sutton had been due to play Redditch United on Saturday, but the Reds will be in the Worcestershire Senior Cup final action and so Sutton will now take on City at Coles Lane tomorrow evening.

  15. Wildlife calender competition won by 11-year-old photographerpublished at 11:37 British Summer Time 21 July 2016

    An 11-year-old boy from Worcester has won a wildlife photography competition, and his picture of an owl will now be used on the cover of the Worcestershire Wildlife Trust's, external annual calender.

    Magnus McLeod beat more than 50 photographers to be given the front cover shot.

    Of the 12 best images, five were put forward for a public vote to choose the overall winner to feature on the cover of the calendar.

    A little owl in Grimley, taken by Magnus when he was 10, won more than 44% of the votes.
