  5. Hospital defends treatment of Redditch manpublished at 19:08 British Summer Time 8 August 2016

    Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Trust has defended its staff's treatment of a Redditch man who killed himself just hours after he was discharged from hospital.

    Christopher Srebniak, 53,  told his family he was thinking of killing himself, he then went to his GP as well as doctors at the A&E at the Alexandra hospital. 

    It was there he was assessed as being of low risk of suicide and sent home, but hours later he killed himself.

    The NHS trust says it takes mental health issues very seriously and that, during the inquest, there had been no criticism of the care he received at the Alexandra Hospital.

    A Worcestershire man broke two lumberjack records at the Timbersports British Championships.

    Rob Chatley got record times in both the standing block chop and the underhand chop. 

    Rob has been competing for over 17 years and says his passion for the sport comes from his dad who was also a British lumberjack champion.

  14. Street art brings local history to lifepublished at 16:55 British Summer Time 8 August 2016

    Two shipping containers have been installed in Worcester's Gheluvelt Park today, as part of a project to bring to the city's archives to life through street art.

    Aerosol street artist Mohammed Ali has painted and sprayed the containers to give people a new perspective on hundreds of years of local history. 

    The containers also have immersive art from eight other artists in their interiors. 

    The installation will be in place until Sunday.

    A man from Worcester, accused of installing hidden cameras in his workplace, has had his court case adjourned to allow psychiatric reports to be prepared.

    Paul Hunt, 43, of Magdala Court, is charged with two counts of voyeurism and installing the equipment.
