  1. Sascha Kindred: From disqualification to gold and a world recordpublished at 12:31 British Summer Time 13 September 2016

    Sascha Kindred had rollercoster of a day as he competed in the pool in his sixth Paralympics games.

    The 38-year-old from Herefordshire was disqualified following the morning heats for the SM6 200m medley, but reinstated after an appeal, and went on to win in a world record time.

    He said it was his final race at a Paralympics, where he has won seven gold medals since he began competing.

  8. Parents whose son died from brain tumour nominated for fundraising awardpublished at 11:00 British Summer Time 13 September 2016

    Two Worcestershire parents who raised over £140, 000 for charity after their son died from a brain tumour have been nominated for a national fundraising award.

    Penny and Wayne Church from Alvechurch, along with Fin's brother and sister, are among just three finalists for the JustGiving's Outstanding Commitment to Fundraising category.

    They fundraised for the national charity Brain Tumour Research and Birmingham Children's Hospital. 

    Fin even raised money to help other patients while undergoing treatment, and smashed a Guinness World Record for lining up the most teddies in a row.

    Sascha Kindred has won a gold medal and broken the world record at the Paralympic games in Rio.

    The 38-year-old swimmer from Herefordshire has now won seven medals in the six games he's competed in.

    Plans to redraw boundaries are being put together to try and reduce the number of MPs at Westminster.
