    Former Worcestershire sschoolboy Rurik Jutting has been found guilty of murdering two Indonesian women in Hong Kong, in a case that has gripped the city.

    A jury took around four hours to find Jutting, who attended Abberley Hall boarding school, guilty on both counts.

    He was sentenced to life in prison for the killings of Sumarti Ningsih and Seneng Mujiasih.

    Their mutilated bodies were found in Jutting's apartment in November 2014.

  5. Coming up on Midlands Today: Independent shops in the West Midlandspublished at 13:21 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November 2016

    More independent shops have opened in the West Midlands than anywhere else in the country during the first half this year.  

    That's according to the British Independent Retailers Association. 

    Its figures show there was growth in leisure outlets including restaurants and cafes, but a decline in fashion stores and newsagents.

    A council worker has been recognised for her work helping young people stay away from crime, drugs and alcohol.

    Ann Nicholls, Worcester City Council’s detached youth team manager, won a prize at the Mentor Awards 2016.

    Her work involves visiting schools, youth centres and other venues to talk about issues like drugs, alcohol and avoiding abusive relationships.

    An eight week project to improve footpaths, landscaping and car parking areas in the Matchborough area of Redditch has started, the council says.

    Redditch Borough Council says the work in Eardisley and Dilwyn Close follows a consultation with local residents about what they wanted to see done.

    The Redditch actor Charles Dance is joining Zoe Ball, Jennifer Saunders and Vic Reeves in the new series of Celebrity Antiques Road Trip. 

    The show pits contestants against each other to seek out undiscovered relics up and down the country.

    The sixth series of the show starts on BBC Two next Monday at 19:00.
