    Here's something you don't see images of every day...

    The Environment Agency have posted pictures of the pumping station culverts at Kempsey as they carry out an inspection.

    The flood defences were given a £1.7m upgrade in 2012 following a 20-year campaign by villagers.

  6. Unlocking the Severn: Take part in public consultationpublished at 17:19 Greenwich Mean Time 20 December 2016

    Members of the public are being asked to take part in a consultation as part of a major project to restore the River Severn.

    The £19.4m project, which is the largest of its kind ever attempted in Europe, was developed jointly by the Severn Rivers Trust, the Canal and River Trust, the Environment Agency and Natural England.

  7. Increase in arrests over Christmas party weekendpublished at 16:50 Greenwich Mean Time 20 December 2016

    The police are reporting an increase the number of people they arrested over the weekend just gone, traditionally one of their busiest periods of the year.

    West Mercia are putting extra officers on the streets, to cope with drink-related trouble during the Christmas party season, and say that across the force area, the number of people arrested and taken into a custody suite went up by 10%, compared to the previous weekend.

    In Shropshire the rise was even higher - up 40%.

    Herefordshire and Worcestershire saw little change in the numbers.

    About 600 woollen angels have been left around Malvern by a local church. 

    They were knitted as part of the 150th anniversary celebrations of the Landsdowne Methodist church .

    A man was treated for injuries to his face after being assaulted in Bromsgrove, police say., external

    He was approached by a man on Crabtree Lane, around 23:15 on Saturday 17 December, who, it's reported, followed and then assaulted him.

    Police are appealing for any witnesses in the area at the time. 

  10. Defence conference coming to Herefordpublished at 16:12 Greenwich Mean Time 20 December 2016

    Security experts from across the UK will be in Hereford in February for the city's first major defence conference., external

    Speakers from the Ministry of Defence and the Department for International Trade will be joined at the Courtyard Theatre by specialists in cyber-technology, for what the organisers say will be one of the biggest such events in the country.

    Hereford is home to Skylon Park, the UK's only Enterprise Zone with a defence and security focus, organisers say.
