  1. Hospital units reopen after increase in demand sees staff divertedpublished at 09:25 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January 2017

    The minor injuries units in Brosmgrove, Evesham and Tenbury are due to reopen as normal from 9:00 - after being closed for a second day yesterday. 

    The Health and Care Trust which run the units say staff had been diverted to the accident and emergency departments at the Worcestershire Royal and the Alexandra hospital to deal with an increase in demand there. 

    The chair of Health Watch Worcestershire - Peter Pinfield - says the minor injuries units are vital.

    A weather warning for ice, external remains in place until 10:00 says the Met Office.

    Untreated pavement and minor roads are likely to be very slippery with a few freezing fog patches also likely.
