  1. Motorcyclists injured in five-bike collisionpublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 4 April 2017

    Three motorcyclists have been taken to hospital with "lower limb injuries" after a collsion involving five motorcycles, external , police say.

    West Mercia Police says the collision happened shortly after 13.20 on Sunday on the A417 Leadon Way in Ledbury at the roundabout by Homebase.

  2. All Saints Church, Worcesterpublished at 14:26 British Summer Time 4 April 2017

    This week's Bells on Sunday, comes from All Saints Church in Worcester. The church has a ring of 12 bells, the earliest 4 were cast at the Rudhall Foundry in Gloucester in 1692. The tenor weighs 20 hundredweight and was recast by Thomas Mears and Son in 1815. We hear them ringing Call Changes.

  3. Hours cut at Shopmobility servicepublished at 14:19 British Summer Time 4 April 2017

    Opening at Hereford's Shopmobility service has been reduced to three days a week. 

    Services for Independent Living, which runs Shopmobility in the city, says it's because of cuts in grant funding. 

    It's hoped reducing the days of operation will stop it running at a loss.

    A new stained glass window and sculpture called Ascension is due to be unveiled at Hereford Cathedral. 

    The project was funded through donations by the Special Air Service Regimental Association.

    It marks the close links between the city and the regiment.

    A woman was assaulted after an argument outside a shop in Kidderminster, external , police say.

    West Mercia Police - which has today appealed for witnesses - says the 30-year-old was assaulted outside a branch of Nisa in Horsefair at about 08:30 on Wednesday, 22 March.

    Police say they are keen to talk to a woman who got out of her car to intervene.

    A 31-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident. 

    He has been released on bail until 2 May.  

  8. Children's water feature to re-open in time for Easterpublished at 11:39 British Summer Time 4 April 2017

    The Splashpad water feature in Gheluvelt Park, Worcester, is to be re-opened in time for the Easter holidays, the council says.

    Worcester City Council says the water play area will be open from Thursday 6 April and will operate from 11:00 to 16:00, "weather permitting".

    The opening hours will be extended until 18:00 during the summer holidays.

  9. Hay Festival includes 30 'visions for the future'published at 11:19 British Summer Time 4 April 2017

    Eddie Izzard (pictured), Michael Sheen, Graham Norton, Lucy Worsley and Ken Loach are among a star-studded line up for the 30th Hay Festival.

    The programme, announced this morning, includes "visions for the future" from 30 of the world's top thinkers including Stephen Fry and Jeanette Winterson.

    The festival runs from 25 May for 10 days and tickets go on sale on Friday.

    Worcester Cavaliers were beaten by 45-0 by a much more experienced Wasps side in the Aviva A-league at Sixways last night.

    One crumb of comfort for the Warriors faithful was that two of the Wasps tries were scored by Tom Howe, who will be joining Worcester next season.

    Worcester Warriors' England international centre Ben Te'o says he is committed to the club and will be at Sixways next season.

    There has been speculation Te'o would be leaving the club as it was felt he needed a move to further enhance his international ambitions, but he has dismissed this and says he's looking forward to helping Warriors move on to the next level.

  12. Drivers hurt in two-car collisionpublished at 09:21 British Summer Time 4 April 2017

    Drivers have been injured  in a two-car collision, external - one suffered facial and chest injuries and the other lower leg injuries, police say.

    The collision happened at about 23:00 last night on the A38 between Ryall and junction 1 of the M50.

    Both men were taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham where their condition is described by police as "stable".

    A Polish man, trafficked to the West Midlands in 2008, is among 300 modern day slaves identified by the police in the past year. , external

    Janusz , not his real name was beaten and made to work for 12 hours a day, for just £65 a week.

    He was freed in 2016 and has been talking about his experiences as part of a BBC investigation.

    Two men have been taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham following a two-car collision on the A38 near Upton-upon-Severn, police say. 

    It happened at about 23:00 last night - the road between Ryall and J1 of the M50 has just been re-opened.

    The two injured men are in "a stable condition", police say.
