I think there's been a complete lack of consultation. I think the council have largely underestimated the feeling about this. On paper, it looks a great event and nobody wants to be a kill-joy. It's fabulous that money is going to be raised for charity, but you don't need to turn the Worcestershire countryside into gridlock in order to do that."

CMS Active who're organising the event have confirmed that whilst they're listening to complaints about the route, anyone affected by road closures would not be compensated.

We've had several issues with Diamond Buses in the last couple of years, but it seems to have escalated since a meeting we had with the company about two months ago. I put a comment on social media for the public to put written complaints to me direct so I could go back to the bus company. I've had about 70 since June 14."

    Rob Lloyd, Stourport Town Councillor

Diamond Buses say they've invested in new GPS enabled ticket machines, which allow them to monitor their services more closely and as a result they've found customer perception of unreliability is incorrect.

He [Ed Barnard] ran in with a lot more vigour, he hit the pitch hard, got good rewards for bowling a really good line and length as simple as that. It was great to see him finally get those four wickets and I hope he can get one more and get his first five wickets because he hasn't got one in first class cricket yet and he deserves one."
