    A major expansion of Malvern Hills Science Park could create 750 new jobs, as well as a 300-home estate.

    BBC Hereford & Worcester has learned that QinetiQ is on the verge of selling acres of unused land to allow the science park to double in size.

    David Chambers, the leader of Malvern Hills District Council, says the development would be a major economic boost.

  4. New M5 disruption 'not justifiable'published at 08:45 British Summer Time 6 July 2017

    A police and crime commissioner and councillors have expressed concerns over a fresh set of diversions around new roadworks on the M5.

    At the end of July, repair work will begin on the Oldbury viaduct between junctions 1 and 2, with Highways England encouraging drivers to use the M42 when heading to or from the M6.

    Brintons, the Kidderminster-based carpet company, has been bought by a private equity company.

    The Carlyle Group says it has sold the company to Argand Partners, which is based in New York and San Francisco, for "an undisclosed sum".

    Brintons, which also has a factory in Telford, recently announced that 60 jobs were to go at its Kidderminster plant.

    Argand Partners said it was attracted by "Brintons’ leading market position" and its "long history of selling award-winning carpets".

    A report by the University of Worcester which shows that victims of harassment and stalking are being left at risk because of failings by police and prosecutors has led to calls for changes to the way reports are handled.

    Crimes were sometimes not being recorded, said a report by, external the Inspectorate of Constabulary, and the Crown Prosecution Service Inspectorate.

    It also said too many investigations were poorly run and failed to give victims legal protection.

    • Better risk assessments for victims
    • Expanding court orders to cover more circumstances
