Restrictions to how much IVF treatment couples in Worcestershire can access on the NHS amount to a "race to the bottom", according to the national fertility charity Fertility Fairness.
It said the move would mean the treatment would only be available to the well-off.
The move, which will see couples offered just one cycle of assisted conception on the NHS, were approved by the county's clinical commissioning groups.
They are estimated to save the local health service around £250,000 a year.
Quote MessageI understand that clinical commissioning groups are facing tough times, but the amount of spend that they use on fertility treatment is tiny."
