  4. Cash stolen by 'water board' callerpublished at 17:41 British Summer Time 4 July 2017

    A man has stolen cash after knocking on the door of a property and claiming to be from the water board, external, police say.

    West Mercia Police say the burglary took place between between 10:15 and 10:30 on 1 July on Orchard Street, Kidderminster.

    The man claimed he needed access to the stop tap due to a leak.

  6. Powick Mill: Worcester's hydro-electric power stationpublished at 17:20 British Summer Time 4 July 2017

    We brought you some spectacular video shot by one of the steeplejacks climbing the 165ft (50m) high chimney at Powick Mill just outside Worcester - thanks to Dawson Steeplejacks for the footage, which was shot with a headcam.

    The mill, which is now a block of flats is one of Worcester's most distinctive landmarks, and has an interesting history.

    A transgender teenager has begun legal action against Hereford Cathedral School for £30,000, claiming they told him he was "going through a phase" when he asked to dress like a boy.

    The 16-year-old from Herefordshire says the school discriminated against him.

    The school say "there wasn't sufficient material for them to be properly aware of the gender reassignment issue - and that in any event it did not discriminate".

  8. Cricket: Herefordshire beaten by Dorsetpublished at 16:43 British Summer Time 4 July 2017

    Herefordshire have been beaten by six wickets by Dorset in their Unicorns Championship match at Colwall cricket club (pictured).

    Resuming this morning on 117 for 8, Herefordshire were able to add only another 10 runs and, despite losing a couple of early wickets, Dorset reached their victory target of 97 for the loss of only four wickets.

    This spectacular footage comes from one of the workers from Dawson Steeplejacks, who were working on the 165ft (50m) high chimney at Powick Mill.

    The Grade II-listed building was once a hydro-electric power station - it was built in 1894, and was the largest public-supply works in Britain. having a water-generated capacity of nearly 400KW, according the the British Listed Building website, external.

    The building has since been converted into flats.

    Dawson Steeplejacks were founded in 1837 in Pudsey, Yorkshire.

    It's a family business with the sixth generation now working a steeplejacks.

    The video was shot with a headcam.

  10. Cricket: Worcestershire bowlers named in England Under-19s squadspublished at 15:43 British Summer Time 4 July 2017

    Two of Worcestershire County Cricket Club's rising stars have been named in the England Under 19 squads for the four-day and one-day matches against India this summer.

    Pace bowler Josh Tongue, who this week signed a new four-year contract with Worcestershire, has been included in the squad for the two four-day matches the second of which will be played at New Road starting on 31 July.

    17-year-old Adam Finch is also a quick bowler and is currently in the Worcestershire Academy. He has been selected for the squad that will play five one-day matches against India's Under 19s.

    MPs will not vote on whether to repeal the Hunting Act for at least two years, the government says.

    The legislation was introduced as a Private Members Bill in 2004 by the then MP for Worcester, Mike Foster.

    The Conservatives promised a free vote on fox hunting in their general election manifesto, and during the campaign Theresa May said she was in favour of bringing it back.

    There was no mention of a vote in the Queen's Speech, and the decision to shelve it during this two-year session was confirmed by environment minister Therese Coffey.
