When two-year-old Finley Amos was suddenly sick one morning, his parents had no idea of the awful events that were about to unfold.
Within hours he was in hospital in an induced coma with meningitis.
It was touch and go, but little Finley pulled through.
The blood poisoning meant doctors had to amputate all of his fingers, thumbs and both feet.
Finley has astounded everyone and help is now pouring in from strangers.
Our reporter Sarah Bishop has been to meet him and will have more on BBC One from 18:30.

The Racehorse Welfare Centre, external, in Malvern, is a sanctuary that looks after ex-racehorses that have retired from racing.
The horses would normally be sent to slaughter but the welfare centre takes them.
It's looked after 13 horses in the past six years, but it costs about £20,000 a year to fund.
Heather Wadley, a horse welfare specialist at the charity, says the centre does get some funds from the racing industry, but it isn't enough for it to keep going.

A judge has criticised a Herefordshire paedophile hunter after an alleged sex offender walked free from court.
David Poole, who founded the group Division H, set up a fake profile online, claiming to be a 14-year-old called Chloe.
The 38-year-old's evidence was described as "at best inaccurate and at worst a lie".
He told Cardiff Crown Court how he trapped Adnan Khalid, who was trying to have sex with an under-age girl.
But Mr Poole, who'd turned up four hours late for the trial, admitted he hadn't passed photo evidence to the police, despite claiming he had.
Judge Thomas Crowther ordered the jury to find Mr Khalid not guilty and criticised the paedophile hunter for the trial collapsing.

A rock band made up of three 11-year-old's will play at a charity festival in Upton-upon-Severn this weekend.
It will be Evesham-based PiggyDooDar, external's first festival.
The Drunken Monkey Rock Festival, external was launched in Upton-upon-Severn four years ago, in memory of local man Ian Dowton, who died after a car accident.
So far it has raised more than £11,000 for the life-saving Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.
The Worcestershire Rapids will travel to Edgbaston tonight to take on the Birmingham Bears in the T20 Blast.

A fire at a new-build property in Worcester "may have been started deliberately", police say.
Nobody was injured in the blaze that happened in the early hours of 26 July in Digilis Lane.
West Mercia Police says inquiries are continuing and wants to speak to any witnesses.
