    Is paying police informants worth spending millions of pounds on? Critics say no but what do you think?

    Humberside Police spent more than £200,000 on informants in the past five years according to figures from a Freedom of Information request by BBC Radio 5 Live.

    Cash in pocket

    £22m has been spent nationally and police chiefs have backed the cash handouts calling them worthwhile and cost effective.

    But critics say it does little to help bring down overall crime.

    Take a look at this. It's the plot where a partly buried house will built be in North East Lincolnshire.

    The house at Hatcliffe near Grimsby will be built partly of concrete made from recycled waste from the Scunthorpe steel works. 

    Part of it is designed to emulate a traditional Lincolnshire barn.

    A decision could be made tonight on the future of Humberston Fitties, the chalet park in North East Lincolnshire.

    Councillors could finally make a decision on who will take over the leasehold at a special meeting tonight.

    The Fitties Community Interest Company, set up by chalet owners, wants to run the site but it isn't one of the council's preferred bidders.

    A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a fatal accident.

    Two teenagers died in a crash in Howden last night (Tuesday 7 February).

    A green Volkswagen Polo came off the road and hit a tree on Barnhill Lane, close to the junction with the B1228 Boothferry Road at 20:15. 

    The two passengers, a 16-year-old girl from Selby and 17-year-old boy from Goole, both died at the scene.

    The driver of the car, a 19-year-old man, sustained minor injuries and has been arrested.

    Police are appealing for witnesses, external to the crash.

    It's believed to be the first visit to Hull for the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall as a couple. 

    Their visit is a celebration of the City of Culture and while here they'll be looking at some of the community projects.

    A city of culture volunteer has been telling us it's a chance to show off the city's heritage and raise the profile even more.
