There's plenty of Yorkshire pride on show around the route of the Tour de Yorkshire this afternoon.
In Scarborough, one man has brought a long flag that looks like it would be more at home at Glastonbury.
While in Bishop Wilton, one of the smaller villages on the route, they've gone all out to decorate:

Right on the top now of the North York Moors, and the riders will be very happy the weather's not been terrible.
It's bad enough driving up there..

That ever-changing gap is now up to 2:15 or thereabouts, less than 60km to go now

The leaders now get to have a bit of respite as the section before the climb is largely down hill

I'm travelling all the way to the finish line in the lead car this afternoon, which gives me a great view of Yorkshire.
Here was the scene a little earlier from Malton, just before the riders came through:

Here are the facts and figures for the Cote de Goathland:
Put simply, the riders are facing a 1.3km climb at 7.5%.
It'll be the toughest of the day so far...

There's still some time until the riders will see this sight, but Scarborough is ready
All we need now is a few spectators and cyclists:

Tour de Yorkshire 2016 winner Thomas Voeckler is currently near the back of the peloton.
I'm sure he'll start to push forward as we get to the closing stages of day one.

There's still a long way to go in this race, so the breakaway group have a lot to do to keep up their lead.
Considering they've been cycling for two hours so far you think they'd look a little more tired:

Pickering is the next big town that will host the Tour de Yorkshire riders this afternoon.
The spectators are ready and the bunting is up.
There's even people climbing the walls:
One of the most gruelling parts of today's Stage One of the Tour de Yorkshire was the climb up Garrowby Hill, the highest point of the Yorkshire Wolds.
But the competitors at least had an artistic distraction to take their mind off the pain: huge artworks by Wildlife artist Robert Fuller.
Here's Robert setting up his outdoor art exhibition:

The peloton continues to hunt down the lead group, with the gap now under the two-minute mark.
On the outskirts of Pickering, some spectators have got their spot firmly reserved ahead of the Tour de Yorkshire passing.
I hope they have carried out a full risk assessment.

The lead car has now arrived in Pickering, so the cyclists won't be far behind.
From here, they'll head over the moors back to the coast.
This is the view they'll get here, we're not quite sure what happened to that poor dummy cyclist in the bush:

The riders are expected in Pickering at about 15:00 but the publicity caravan is already here hyping up the crowds.
The riders can look forward to a warm welcome before they head over the moors towards Goathland.

A lady nearly makes the headlines for all the wrong reasons in Norton on Derwent as she skips across the road moments before the seven riders out front whizz by.
A second later and she’d have brought all of them down like skittles.
Stay safe if you’re watching and stay clear of the riders!
