    The bakery chain Greggs has dropped its legal challenge against Hull City Council over whether it should provide toilets in some of its stores.

    Last year Hull City Council felt the two stores in Hull where you can sit down had an unfair advantage over other small cafes because Greggs didn't have to spend time and money taking care of toilets.

    Greggs HQ which is based in Newcastle argued it was just following directions from the local council.

    The case ended up in the High Court where a judge agreed with the council that Greggs had 'an unfair commercial advantage'.

    The bakery company had planned to appeal that decision but they're no longer doing that

    Hull FC , externalassistant coach Richard Horne has been appointed as the new head coach at Doncaster RLFC, external.

    The 2005 Challenge Cup winner had been on the Black and Whites’ coaching staff since he retired at the end of 2014 and has been in charge of the club’s reserve grade side.

    The 34-year-old will now take up a two-year deal as head coach with Doncaster.

    Horne enjoyed a 17-year playing career with his hometown club, notching up just short of 400 appearances for the Airlie Birds.

    Bridlington and Hull are in the top 10 emerging UK destinations for holidaymakers, according to research by global hotel search platform Trivago.

    The list is compiled through Trivago’s annual Global Summer Trends research and uses data from the past two years from its platforms.

    This then identifies the destinations that have seen the largest increase in local popularity over this period from UK users.

    East Riding of Yorkshire Council say it's pleased that Bridlington has been recognised.

    Humberside's Police and Crime Commissioner says so-called Sobriety Tags which monitor alcohol consumption are only one part of preventing alcohol-related crime.

    It's thought half of violent incidents are committed by people who've been drinking and cost the taxpayer up to £13bn a year.

    The idea is being trialed in Grimsby and is supported by Keith Hunter.

    Young's have now supported the club for over a decade, with the Mariners sporting the Young’s Seafood logo on shirts since 2004.

    Last summer saw the upper and lower Stands at Blundell Park renamed the 'Young’s upper stand' and 'Young’s lower stand'.

    An East Yorkshire nature reserve says the arrival of more than 20 avocet chicks is hugely significant for the area.

    The avocet is a threatened species and was once extinct in the UK.

    A new pilot scheme in North East Lincolnshire to tackle alcohol-related crime could eventually save the British taxpayer up to £13bn every year.

    The Humber, Lincolnshire & North Yorkshire Community Rehabilitation Company has chosen Grimsby as one of the locations for a new project using monitoring technology to track offenders who commit crimes under the influence of alcohol.

    It's thought 50% of all violent incidents are caused by alcohol.

    Amy Gilbert is helping to lead the project and says the so-called 'sobriety tags' are just the starting point.

    The new Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire air ambulance has been unveiled this lunchtime.

    Humberside Police have confirmed that a 16-year- old was taken into custody following an incident on Myton Bridge this morning.

    They say they attended Myton Bridge after they became concerned for the safety of a boy who was on the bridge.

    Humberside Police are trying to establish the full circumstances of the incident and are looking at what offences may have been committed.

    A retired Methodist minister has been jailed for using hypnosis to sexually abuse boys as a way to "satisfy his own depravity".

    John Price, 82, was found guilty of 13 counts of indecent assault dating back to the 1970s and 1980s.

    The attacks happened at his manse, in the vestry or at the boys' homes when he was a minister in York and Pocklington.

    One victim, who read out a personal statement in court, said the abuse had left him in "a chasm of absolute despair".

    Jailing him for eight and a half years, Judge Howard Crowson said as a minister he had been expected to show compassion and care for the boys, but instead he abused them.

    A cycling themed cafe in Beverley is facing opposition after one local resident complained about noise.

    The planning application for Cafe Velo to continue its use has been recommended for refusal by the Director of Planning and Economic Regeneration at East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

    Owner Garry Payne says they've invited environmental health to explore any issues with noise and they have not found any problems. Environmental health has written in support of the cafe continuing.

    Lib Dem Councillor Dennis Healy, who initially opposed the application, says he is now meeting with the cafe's owners to help secure its future.

  19. Search to find Hull School children from the 1980spublished at 11:16 British Summer Time 13 June 2017

    Radio Humberside are searching for people who attended Dorchester Primary School in Hull in the 1980s.

    Then aged around 12, a number of children took part in a project called 'What Do You Know?' where the pupils were asked that question, with their responses being recorded and a photo taken.

    They've teamed up with the creator Michael Meyers to trace the people involved, with Michael also creating a new project for the City of Culture year.

    Last week Mr Bunting died at the age of 80.

    He was a Hull KR player before taking up a coaching post at Craven Park but it was across the city at Hull FC where he was most successful.

    He will be remembered at Hull FC's game on Sunday.
