    It will be a dry and clear night at first although overnight cloud will tend to increase bringing a few showery outbreaks of rain later.

    Not as cold as last night with a minimum temperature of 4 deg C (39 deg F).

    Tomorrow will see showery outbreaks of rain which will move southwards through the morning, brightening from the north through the afternoon with sunny spells. Highs of 8 deg C (46 deg F).

    And Sunday will see a cold and frosty start but dry and fine throughout the day with plenty of sunshine but clouding over from the west later and feeling cold.

    The London Mayor Sadiq Khan has been visiting Hull today to see what ideas he can take from the City of Culture.

    He's been impressed with how the arts and performances have been accessible for everyone.

  4. Child sex images case - court appeal deniedpublished at 17:17 Greenwich Mean Time 17 November 2017

    A north Lincolnshire man who claimed indecent images of children on his computer had been put there by someone else has failed to have his conviction overturned.

    Steven Cook (55) from Wold View in Holton-Le-Clay was found guilty at Grimsby Crown Court last year.

    At the time he was sentenced to five years for taking, making and distributing indecent photos of children and possessing extreme pornographic images.

    In his appeal, Cook argued that the 200 pornographic images, including some extreme ones, on his laptop and phone had been put there by someone who had remotely accessed his devices.

    He had also shared the images with others.

    Today judges at the Court of Appeal in London dismissed his appeal.

  5. The final Children in Need challenge for Peterpublished at 17:01 Greenwich Mean Time 17 November 2017

    For this year's Children in Need, Look North presenter Peter Levy has been doing seven challenges over seven days.

    It started with Peter feeding the lions, saw him doing a tandem bike ride with weather presenter Abbie Dewhurst and he's even had a go at learning to do ballroom dancing and pole dancing!

    But today Peter and his piping helpers from Thoresby School have been decorating gingerbread Pudseys. Here's how he got on:

  6. Strike action threatened on some Virgin trainspublished at 16:40 Greenwich Mean Time 17 November 2017

    Workers on Virgin's East Coast rail line, which runs trains from East Yorkshire and northern Lincolnshire to London and Scotland, are balloting for industrial action over a dispute about pay.

    The RMT union say Virgin are creating a "two tier" workforce with changes to sick pay for new starters and by imposing a rejected pay offer.

    Virgin say they believe a 3.2% pay increase is fair but they remain open to discussions.

  7. Hull MP calls for public inquiry into mesh implants for womenpublished at 16:30 Greenwich Mean Time 17 November 2017

    The Minister for Health says he will consider looking into the risks associated with surgical mesh implants for women after a debate yesterday with one of our MPs.

    Hull West and Hessle MP, Emma Hardy, joined a cross party group of MPs who called for an inquiry after a number of complications.

    The implants are used by surgeons to treat things like pelvic organ prolapse.

  8. X-Factor star's Dad to be sentenced for fraudpublished at 16:03 Greenwich Mean Time 17 November 2017

    The Dad of X Factor star Ella Henderson has failed to get his convictions for fraud overturned.

    Sean Patrick Henderson (51) from Tetney Manor in Tetney near Grimsby was found guilty of tax evasion and fraud conspiracy last year.

    He has always maintained his innocence but today Court of Appeal judges upheld his conviction.

    Henderson is due to be sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court on 15 December.

    Batman truly is a hero for one little Hull boy after a successful campaign to get him to switch on the city's Christmas lights.

    Six-year-old Daniel Carter from Bransholme has cancer and told BBC Radio Humberside he is keen to be involved in the switch on.

    A campaign was started by a man known as Hull's Batman.

    And today the council revealed Daniel will help turn this year's Christmas lights on with the Lord Mayor of Kingston upon Hull and Admiral of the Humber outside the Ferens Art Gallery on Thursday 23 November 2017 at 18:30.

  10. Honour for Hull's 'Bee Lady'published at 15:21 Greenwich Mean Time 17 November 2017

    Hull'sBee Lady, Jean Bishop will be given the Freedom of the City honour next week.

    It's the highest honour that a council can bestow.

    Jean Bishop dressed as a bee with an Age UK collection tin.

    The 95-year-old will be presented with the Honorary Freemen scroll at the full council meeting next Thursday.

    Jean has become known throughout Hull for dressing up as a bee to raise money for Age UK.

    She's raised more than £119,000 so far.

  11. MP calls on Government to do more to save BAE jobspublished at 15:04 Greenwich Mean Time 17 November 2017

    There have been further calls in Parliament to try and protect jobs at BAE Systems in Brough by bringing forward orders for replacing the Red Arrows Hawk jets.

    BAE Systems has announced plans to cut almost 2,000 jobs across the UK, including 400 in Brough.

    The former Labour Defence Minister, Kevan Jones, says he's concerned new jets would have to be built abroad and that the future of the display team would be uncertain.

    But Defence Minister, Harriet Baldwin, said the Red Arrows aren't at risk:

    Knocking down a church building in Grimsby would be the wrong thing to do.

    That's from a North East Lincolnshire councillor, as the local authority considers demolishing St James House which is owned by the church.

    It's part of their bigger plan to revamp Grimsby town centre.

    But Independent councillor Christine McGilligan-Fell doesn't think it should go.

  14. Plans to improve failing East Yorkshire schoolpublished at 13:47 Greenwich Mean Time 17 November 2017

    The South Holderness Technology College in East Yorkshire is to join a multi-academy trust in a bid to improve its performance.

    Last month the overall effectiveness of the school was rated as 'inadequate' by Ofsted.

    Plans have now been put in place for the school to join the Consortium Multi Academy Trust, which already consists of Cottingham, Wolfreton and Hessle schools.

    A York woman's had to pay £150 after the man she paid to take away her rubbish dumped it on a country lane near Driffield in East Yorkshire:

    Marie Greenwood, from Barkstone Road in York, has pleaded guilty at Beverley Magistrates' Court to failing to check she was using an authorised waste carrier.

    Black bin bags, an old printer, a vacuum cleaner and other household waste were dumped by the side of the road in Sandy Lane, Harpham, back in March.

    Miss Greenwood hadn't checked if the man had a valid licence and didn't get a receipt.

    Last year the Christmas lights in Beverley were described by some as lacklustre and underwhelming.

    So over the last 12 months one Beverley business woman has been raising money for better Christmas lights.

    Kerris Lacy says this year people will be in for a nice surprise when the town's Christmas lights are switched on next week.

    A wonderful Dickensian Christmas atmosphere can be created in Beverley, according to Mrs Lacy and she adds the town would be silly not to make the most of it.

    A group of dads are marching through Hull today.

    They want equal rights to access for parents to see their children after a separation.

    Dads Against Double Standards are highlighting the effects not seeing your children can have on a father's mental health.
