    A woman has been attacked in a Hull cemetery in the early hours.

    Police have cordoned off the cemetery on Spring Bank West while they investigate the incident which is thought to have happened at around 02:30 this morning.

    Anyone with any information is asked to call the 101 number or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

    It will be a warm welcome for Her Majesty the Queen who's visiting Hull today.

    She'll arrive by Royal Train and be met by 400 Hull 2017 Volunteers.

    The Queen will also take a look around the the Siemens Gamesa wind turbine factory.

    She'll be welcomed there by pupils from Victoria Dock Primary School:

    Her Majesty the Queen last visited Hull in 2009 and was greeted by crowds of children.

    Today crowds of Hull 2017 volunteers are getting ready to welcome the Queen.

    She'll be taking a tour of the Siemens Gamesa factory and officially opening the Allam Medical Building at the University of Hull.

    There are reports police have cordoned off an area of Spring Bank West near to the cemetery in Hull.

    It's not clear what's going on. Part of the area is taped off.

    We've contacted the police and we will have more information as we get it.

    Up to 130 jobs are at risk in Hull, after KCOM said it will close a call centre in March.

    The communications company says the Prospect House centre is unprofitable.

    It hopes most staff can go on to work for the provider that takes over KCOM's contracts, or find jobs in other parts of the business

    If you go in one of Hull's pubs between now and Christmas you might notice some special beer mats on the tables.

    They'll feature pictures taken by the winners of a photography competition, which was part of the City of Culture year.

    Sixteen pictures will be featured, which show scenes including Hull Fair and the UK Pride event.

    It's a huge day for Hull. Later this morning Her Majesty the Queen will be in the City.

    She'll arrive at Hull Paragon Station on the Royal Train before being taken to the Siemens Gamesa wind turbine factory and then onto the University of Hull.

    A group of pupils from Victoria Dock Primary School are going to wave to the Queen when she arrives and leaves Siemens Gamesa.

    The visit will also see The Queen officially open the new Allam Medical building at the University of Hull.

    The centre is home to the Faculty of Health Sciences, which includes the Hull York Medical School, the School of Health & Social Work and the School of Life Sciences.

    Students learn midwifery, nursing, medicine and operating department practice, in state of the art realistic hospital wards and theatres.

    The 11 to 18 year olds are performing a specially composed work based on the poem "Here" by Philip Larkin which describes Hull and its people. It's part of a special youth proms.

    A retired vicar from East Yorkshire, who was convicted in March of sexually abusing a boy has failed to have his case overturned.

    Reverend David Ernest Fletcher, of Pulham Lane in Wetwang, was originally jailed for three years at Bradford Crown Court. But last month that was reduced to one year, meaning he could be released immediately.

    The 63-year-old sexually abused a boy at a smallholding near Bradford in the 1980s.

    Today judges at the Court of Appeal rejected claims the convictions were unsafe and dismissed the appeal.

    Two people have been injured in a hit and run in Bridlington, external.

    The incident happened at around 17:45 yesterday on Prospect Street near the war memorial.

    A white Mitsubishi L200 drove past a group of people and struck two of them.

    The pair suffered minor injuries. Police are appealing for information.

    A letting agent in Grimsby has sent letters to its tenants on benefits warning them of eviction if they're relying on the government's new universal benefit to pay their rent.

    GAP Property have issued the notices in anticipation of delays in welfare payments causing tenants to go into arrears.

    Today in Parliament the Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn raised the issue with the Prime Minister:

    The Prime Minister Theresa May defended Universal Credit, which is currently being rolled out across northern Lincolnshire and said she wanted to see the letter.

  20. Sport: Scunthorpe United player enjoys 'stunning strike'published at 15:21 Greenwich Mean Time 15 November 2017

    Scunthorpe United's Hakeeb Adelakun hopes his stunning strike against Northampton last night will be the first of many.

    His 25-yard effort in the FA Cup 1st round replay was his first goal of the season.

    But the 21-year-old admits he's been working hard to ensure he keeps a positive mindset and not let his confidence drop.
