    Young drivers across Northern Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire are learning how to stay safe on the region's roads through virtual reality.

    Road safety officers use immersive education to teach youngsters on how to stay safe on our roads.

    They're going into schools and colleges and say the headsets are proving invaluable.

    Hull Trains, external has published a list of which services are running normally and which ones have been cancelled or amended today.

    Eight journeys have been cancelled and four will run as normal.

    The company says some of its trains have been damaged by recent bad weather.

    Humberside Police have tweeted that Rolston Road in Hornsea is closed because of a serious traffic collision.

    Hull City moved nine points clear of the Championship relegation zone with a convincing victory at Ipswich Town.

    The Tigers, who had won once in their past 11 away league games, went ahead from Markus Henriksen's 25-yard shot.

    Harry Wilson's volley made it 2-0 at half-time and Jarrod Bowen squeezed the ball past Bartosz Bialkowski's near post a minute after the restart.

    It was another night of misery for the home fans who last saw an Ipswich goal in a 1-0 win over Leeds on 13 January.

    Market traders in Scunthorpe will find out later today where the new proposed site for an indoor market will be.

    North Lincolnshire Council has been looking at two new possible sites as part of its plans to invest £60 million in the town.

    19,000 people have signed a petition against moving the market from its current location.

    Julia Murray, who has been invited to the meeting, says it will be hard to leave the current indoor market.

    A book of condolence has been opened today for BBC Yorkshire's cricket commentator Dave Callaghan.

    Dave Callaghan who died last Monday

    He was widely regarded as the voice of Yorkshire cricket and died on Monday after being taken ill on Friday night.

    The book will be at the reception of BBC Yorkshire in Leeds from this morning until Friday and can be signed between 10:00 and 14:00.

    It will then be given to Dave's family.

    Philip Hammond has said the UK economy is growing at a slightly faster rate than predicted in November and borrowing is down.

    But Ed Cox from IPPR North said "There was little regard for all parts of the North of England in today’s Spring Statement."

    Scunthorpe MP Nic Dakin has called on the government to do more to ensure the European Union takes 'robust measures' to protect the steel industry, after the US announced plans to introduce import tariffs on steel.

    The US president Donald Trump announced earlier this month that steel imports into America would face a 25% tariff.

    Nic Dakin believes the plans could start a trade war and lead to job losses in the UK.

    The government says it will try to encourage Donald Trump to make the EU exempt from any trade tariffs that are imposed.

    A photograph has been released of dog handler PC Ian Sweeney who tackled a 21-year-old knife-wielding suspect at an address in Grimsby yesterday evening.

    PC Ian Sweeney cornered the man in the garden of a property in Corporation Road, suffering injuries to his face, legs and chest during the arrest.

    The 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of the attempted murder of a 68 year-old-man who suffered stab wounds to his arm and back in an earlier incident.

    Beverley and Holderness MP Graham Stuart says he's concerned about the standard of care that people with Parkinson's disease are getting in his constituency.

    It's been revealed that there is only one part-time specialist nurse to treat 1,300 Parkinson's disease sufferers across Hull and East Yorkshire.

    Parkinson's UK has offered to pay £90,000 to help fund a specialist nurse for two years.

    The local Clinical Commissioning Group say they welcome the charity's support and will work with them to develop the service.

    The 41-year-old has gone missing from hospital without completing his treatment.

    David Crawley walked out of Scunthorpe General Hospital at around 06:45 this morning.

    He's originally from the Leicester area and is thought to have links to Goole, Hull, Doncaster, Harrogate, Thames Valley and Leicester.

    Police are concerned for his welfare and safety as he was receiving treatment which he hasn’t completed.

    He is of small build, has shoulder-length hair and was wearing dark clothing and a black hat.

    He was carrying a large, distinctive orange and black rucksack.
