    A man's been arrested after armed police descended on People's Park in Grimsby late last night.

    The 23-year-old-man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm, possession of a knife and robbery.

    Armed officers attended to ensure the safety of everyone in the area, according to Humberside Police.

    They were also supported by the police helicopter.

    Plans for nearly 200 homes in a North East Lincolnshire village could get the go ahead later.

    Cyden Homes wants to build the development at Waltham, near Grimsby, and it looks like planners could today approve it, but with conditions attached.

    Some people living in the village aren't happy and have said the area doesn't have the infrastructure to cope with more homes.

    A Hull MP is expected to call on the Prime Minister later to invest more money in youth services and the police to help tackle anti-social behaviour.

    Emma Hardy, Labour MP for Hull West and Hessle, says funding cuts are the reason why there's been a rise in problems across East Yorkshire and northern Lincolnshire.

    The government says police funding will increase by up to £450m next year, while Humberside Police says it has one of the lowest levels of reported anti-social behaviour in the country.

    Work has already started to boost defences in the city with a £36.5m scheme.

    East Lindsey District Council has tweeted following numerous incidents where a substance has washed up on beaches along the Lincolnshire coast.

    The tests have come back on the substance and it has been identified as petroleum wax.

    The advice remains the same, do not remove or touch the substance and please report it.

    Officers from Humberside Police are appealing for information after it was reported that several people were seen killing a badger at Ousefleet near Goole.

    Officers say the incident was reported to them in the early hours of Tuesday 20 March and they would like any information to find those responsible.

    In a separate incident, a badger sett was damaged near Newport in the East Yorkshire on Tuesday 13 March, when four people were seen acting suspiciously in the area.

    This year's International Hanse Day will be held in they newly transformed Trinity Square.

    The day celebrates Hull's historic role as a trading city and its place in the Hanseatic League - an international confederation of merchant guilds and market towns.

    It'll have storytelling, music and a fire-breathing stilt-walking jester.

    The event will take place on Saturday 12 May.

    Last year's celebrations were held at Hull's Museum Quarter and attracted 21,000 people.

    Hull's Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) says it will continue to work closely with Thames Ambulance to ensure the non-emergency patient transport service meets the needs of patients in the city.

    The CCG adds "there are no current plans to make changes to this contract, and patients should continue to book their transport in their usual way".

    It comes after TASL was told last night that North Lincolnshire would be cancelling its services.

    The Cleethorpes MP Martin Vickers has also called for the North East Lincolnshire to part ways with the company.

    The move comes after months of criticism, with patients raising concerns about frequent delays or ambulances not arriving at all.

    New figures released today show that teenage pregnancies in Hull are at an all time low.

    Data from the Office of National Statistics reveal pregnancies in under 18s are at their lowest levels since 1969.

    Conception rates among teenagers have gone down by almost 64% in Hull since the council's teenage pregnancy strategy began in 1998.

    It's thought better education and support for young people is behind the decline.

    Cleethorpes MP Martin Vickers is calling for the outpatient transport provider Thames Ambulance Service (TASL) to have it's contract terminated in North East Lincolnshire.

    The move comes after months of criticism, with patients raising concerns about frequent delays or ambulances not arriving at all.

    TASL says it's disappointed at the decision to cancel the North Lincolnshire contract.

    After a year of complicated legal matters Market Weighton's former Barclay's Bank building has finally been bought by the town council.

    The town council says it doesn't have enough space in its current building on Linegate and there are problems there with disabled access.
