Advice includes checking weather and tide conditions and carrying a means for calling for help should something go wrong.
The organisation is also warning that lifeguard season begins later in the spring and that beaches currently aren't manned.
RNLI lifesavers assisted 154 people in Yorkshire and 104 people in Lincolnshire last year.
People are being urged not to call the Coastguard if they see any seals on beaches.
The agency says it's getting a lot of calls about the seals, but in almost all cases the seals are simply resting and should be left alone.
Coastguard officials say if a seal's genuinely injured, call the RSPCA.

A total of 63,000 officers across the country currently wear the technology, the first force to use them being Devon and Cornwall in 2014.
