A former Hull councillor who was convicted in February of downloading indecent images of children is due to be sentenced later.
Steven Bayes, 56, of Prospect Street, Hull, led the successful campaign for the city to win City of Culture status last year.
Bayes, who was expelled from the Labour Party, remained a councillor until today having not stood for re-election in yesterday's local elections.
