1. More fallen soldiers to be recognised on Hull war memorialpublished at 10:55 British Summer Time 30 April 2018

    The names of more than 200 soldiers are to be added to a war memorial in Hull.

    Research by Hull councillor Terry Keal, who's retiring from the city council, found 239 names of soldiers who were killed in World War One but who weren't included on the roll of honour.

    It's hoped the names will be added to Sutton war memorial in time for Remembrance Sunday this year.

    Traders at Beverley Market are due to hold a fundraising day for Cottingham's Castle Hill hospital later this week.

    It's for the Daisy Appeal which is funding a new £7.2m unit to help with the earlier detection of cancer, heart disease and dementia.

    The event will be held on Saturday 5 May and will include a variety of activities including a children’s treasure hunt.

    Two people and a dog had to be rescued from a cliff ledge near Hornsea at the weekend.

    They got stuck after being cut off by the tide at Mappleton on Sunday.

    The Yorkshire Air Ambulance was called as well as the coastguard and Humberside Police.

    A Grimsby man has been charged with attempted murder following an incident in the town on 7 April.

    Daniel Woodroffe, 26, of Eleanor Street, Grimsby, has been remanded to appear before Grimsby and Cleethorpes Magistrates' Court this morning after handing himself in, police say.

    He is also charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

    Hull's Maritime Museum will be featured in a one-off documentary tonight.

    Art and The Sea will look into the history of some of the world's greatest art found along the east coast.

    Presenter Ace Bhatti will visit the museum and talk about the region's involvement in the history of art.

    The programme will air on BBC One at 19:30 tonight.

    The Labour MP for Grimsby is backing a crackdown on unwanted sexual behaviour on public transport.

    British Transport Police say it's something that often goes unreported.

    Melanie Onn MP says it's important victims feel they are able to speak out.

    She says: : "For too long, victims of sexual harassment on public transport have not felt able to disclose this as an issue.
