    Static caravan owners on the East Coast say they are being ripped off by holiday park managers who charge them thousands of pounds in commission when they sell their properties.

    Anyone who sells a static caravan is required by law to pay a fee, to the site owner, which can be as much as 15% of the sale value.

    Karyl Collins wants to sell the caravan she bought in East Yorkshire three years ago and feels she's being ripped off:

    The National Caravan Council says the rate of commission on the resale of a holiday home is agreed by the parties when the agreement is signed, and this term is clear and prominent in the documentation.

  6. Police search for white vanpublished at 17:12 British Summer Time 13 July 2018

    Police in Scunthorpe are looking for a white van, after a man in the back grabbed a school girl's bag, external.

    Officers say they don't know if the three men in the van were trying to steal the girl's bag or if there was another motive.

    The incident happened in Merlin Road close to Bridges Road at around 08:00 this morning when the van passed the girls a couple of times then stopped.

    The girls ran off to school, where the van was later spotted.

    The van is described as a dirty white Ford Transit style van with a red triangle and black flames with the word 'warning' on the back right hand door.

    Police are appealing for information.

    It follows the collapse of the chain last month.

    Ten staff at the Grimsby store will lose their jobs.

    A search is continuing to find a buyer for the chain which has other stores in Hull, Goole and Scunthorpe.

    Police are trying to trace the family of 64-year-old Trevor Pickard.

    Mr Pickard was sadly found dead at his home in Hornsea, external on 28 June 2018.

    Despite efforts to find his family, officers say so far, they have been unsuccessful.

    The death isn't being treated as suspicious and anyone with any information is being asked to call the police on the 101 number.

    Police are trying to find a 15 year-old from Cleethorpes, external who hasn't been seen since last Friday.

    Linton Doherty was last seen when he went camping with friends.

    Police say they've received reports he's been seen around town, but there's concern for his safety.

    He was wearing a black Nike tracksuit and riding a black and red mountain bike.

    The defender is Hull City's fourth signing of the summer transfer window.

    De Wijs has agreed a three-year contract with the Tigers, with the club having the option of a further year.

    The union Unison say a judgement not to give carers the minimum wage for a "sleep-in" shift is a huge mistake.

    These are shifts which provide overnight care at a persons house between 22:00 and 07:00 and are typically paid an allowance of £29.50.

    It's after a previous Employment Tribunal found in favour of East Yorkshire care worker Claire Tomlinson-Blake, saying she used a "listening ear" and was working while she was asleep.

    But today the Court of Appeal ruled in favour of Mencap to overturn the previous ruling which could have meant care providers having to pay around £400m in back pay.

    Trade union Unison says the decision not to count sleep-in shifts as working time is wrong and that most care workers on these shifts aren't sleeping.

    Grimsby Town midfielder Elliott Whitehouse is understood to have suffered a serious knee injury in pre-season training.

    Initial scans have revealed an ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) injury, and the club is understood to be seeking a second medical opinion, amid fears that Whitehouse could be sidelined for the whole of the upcoming season.

    The news would be a blow to boss Michael Jolley, who signed the 24-year-old from league two rivals Lincoln City on a two-year deal last month.

    Hull's year as UK City of Culture has been shortlisted for a National Lottery Award.

    The programme produced more than 2,800 event and attracted an audience of 5.3m people.

    A cow has been pulled from the River Derwent in North Yorkshire after getting itself stuck.

    The cow was stuck in the udder-high water before being pulled out by fire crews and animal rescue specialists.

    It happened on a stretch of the river near Buttercrambe.

    Using boats, man power, and a forklift loader, the cow was back on dry land and can put the udder-ly ridiculous ordeal behind them.
