    Police are trying to find a small van which may have been used during a robbery in Hornsea.

    The incident happened at around 04:50 on 9 July at a store on Newbegin.

    It’s believed a purple, or maroon Peugeot Partner van reversed into the front of the shop to gain entry.

    The van may have sustained damage during the incident.

    Police are trying to find a man with two distinctive tattoos who verbally abused and physically threatened a woman in Cleethorpes.

    It happened on Brereton Avenue around 18:15 on 2 July 2018.

    The woman was walking along the road when a man, holding what was thought to be a broken bottle, verbally abused and threatened her then chased her along the road.

    The suspect has been described as white, in his late 40s to 50s, around 5 feet 9, bald and spoke with a local accent.

    He was wearing a light blue tracksuit zipped down to the waist.

    He also had two distinctive tattoos a wave pattern on the left side of his head and a green tattoo on his right ankle.

    A teenager who was jailed for seven years after stabbing a support worker at a north Lincolnshire school has begun her appeal against her sentence.

    In September last year Elisha Burkill attacked 61-year-old Joy Simon, at Winterton Academy near Scunthorpe.

    Mrs Simon suffered serious injuries during the attack.

    After pleading guilty to wounding with intent and possessing a knife, Elisha Burkill was sentenced to seven years in a young offenders institution

    Her lawyers are appealing that sentence, claiming it's too harsh.

    They say an undiagnosed mental health issue led to her actions that day.

    Burkill has now been diagnosed with autism and depression and a psychiatric report is being prepared.

    Humberside Police are asking for witnesses to come forward, after a man was arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon, as he walked around Scunthorpe

    The incident happened on 9 July as he walked along Digby Street, Spencer Avenue, Theodore Road, and then Henderson Avenue at around 16:30.

    It’s alleged he threatened a group of youths with some kind of bladed weapon before he was arrested.

    No one has been hurt.

    The suspect has been released under investigation.

    The Government is to ban a procedure used to treat incontinence, after a campaign led by Hull West and Hessle MP Emma Hardy.

    NHS England is putting an immediate curb on mesh operations after safety concerns.

    It has accepted the advice of a new review looking at harm reported by women who received the treatment for stress urinary incontinence.

    Many women say the implants caused them agony by cutting into tissue.

    Hull West and Hessle MP Emma Hardy, who led a campaign for the ban, says the decision should be commended.

    East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Cabinet is being asked to approve a ninth year of free Christmas parking for the four weekends in the run-up to Christmas and to suspend parking charges for Armistice Day on Sunday, 11 November.

    The free parking initiatives for Remembrance Sunday and for Christmas will be presented to cabinet for approval next Tuesday.
