  1. Mother sought after placenta foundpublished at 08:29 British Summer Time 11 June 2015

    A woman who may have recently given birth is being sought by police after a human placenta was found in a bag.

    It was discovered by dog walkers near to Hyrstlands Park, off Track Road, Batley at about 09:40 on Monday.

    West Yorkshire Police said the contents had been confirmed as that of a fully-grown human placenta.

  2. Arrest over attempted rape and murderpublished at 08:10 British Summer Time 11 June 2015

    A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and attempted rape after an attack on a woman in Leeds earlier this week.

    A 23-year-old woman managed to escape an attacker who dragged her into bushes on Redcote Lane, Kirkstall, at about 17:50 on Monday.

    Yesterday, police said they were "considering if there was any link" between this attack and another one on the Leeds-Liverpool Canal towpath early on Wednesday morning.
