Six million pounds for Wakefield's centrepublished at 17:31 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2016
If you live in Wakefield and don't like the state of the city centre roads much, I have some good news - the council's going to spend £6m transforming the area.
The money will be spent improving the Kirkgate area, specifically the roads, pavements and cycle paths.
The subways which were built in the 1970s will be filled in and replaced with storm water storage.
Work's expected to start in April.
