  11. Car key jammers: What you need to knowpublished at 15:04 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December 2016

The transmitters, which are easy to buy online, can be used to interrupt signals from keys fobs, meaning unwary motorists believe their cars to be secure when they're anything but.

This leaves the path clear for thieves to help themselves to your belongings, and even take the car itself.

One victim of key jamming in Leeds has been telling the BBC what happened to her. Read more about her experiences here.

Tracy Brabin was speaking in the House of Commons during a debate on violence against women.

Mrs Brabin was elected in October as the MP for Batley and Spen following the murder of Jo Cox.

The former TV actress told MPs she had been "battered", but that a "community-spirited Indian neighbour further down the road saved me from something much worse".

The man had been prosecuted and sentenced, she said, but for years afterwards she would not walk alone and had slept with a knife.

She urged the government to do more to combat violence against women.
