  1. Listen: South Yorkshire campaigners bid for HS2 judicial reviewpublished at 07:42 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2017

The battle over the planned HS2 high-speed rail route in South Yorkshire is set to go to court.

Campaigners are launching a bid for a judicial review to ask a judge to examine if the decision-making process for the route has been correctly followed.

Ministers say the service will improve the transport network and boost the economy, but there's been controversy about the exact route of the line and its effect on those living near it.

I'm in Moortown, Leeds, this morning where about 50 firefighters have been tackling a blaze at the Leafield Towers block of flats.

    Scene of fire

Some residents are reported to have been evacuated from the building after the fire started at about 05:45.

When I arrived, there were a lot of people standing out on the balconies here, and I could see firefighters on the top three storeys flashing their very powerful lamps checking there was nobody up there.

No-one has been seriously hurt and the fire has been confined to the flat where it started, West Yorkshire Fire Service has told me.

Most of the fire engines have now gone from the scene, but I can still smell quite a pungent odour in the air.
