  6. Your headlines from across Yorkshire this morningpublished at 10:25 British Summer Time 26 April 2017

    Andrew Barton
    BBC Local Live, Yorkshire

Here are some of the stories making the news across Yorkshire so far this morning:

  7. Breaking news? - It's cold up north.published at 10:09 British Summer Time 26 April 2017

Apparently, changing climates are leading to a north/south divide when it comes to gardens - with warmer dryer conditions in the south and wetter colder conditions in the north.

    Nothing new there then.

    Peace Gardens, Sheffield

A report by the Royal Horticultural Society and Sheffield University says the quintessential British lawn, in particular, is now under threat as gardeners could have to cope with frequent droughts and heatwaves, new plant pests and stronger storms.

The report suggests here in the north, we're heading towards a milder climate that will also be wetter and stormier, with floods more likely, while the south will become hotter and drier, suitable for growing desert plants.

    Phew!

  8. Listen: Tour de Yorkshire fuelled by Christmas spirit?published at 09:55 British Summer Time 26 April 2017

This year is the third in the cycling race's history, and will cover all corners of the county between the start in Bridlington on Friday, and the finish line in Stocksbridge two days later.

In previous year's the race has revealed some incredible images from around Yorkshire, come rain or shine.

That could lead to competition among neighboruing towns, to see who can best show off their people and places to the cameras and crowds.

And where do they get their inspiration? Christmas, naturally.

That's the secret behind decorating Penistone, according to Mayor Paul Hand-Davis - the riders will pass through his town on the way to the finish in Fox Valley on Sunday:

Officers received a report of tools being stolen from a vehicle parked near the Flask Inn, just off the A171, between Whitby and Scarborough just after midnight.

A police operation, which including the use of a tyre-deflating stinger device, was carried out to stop a blue Vauxhall Astra car (pictured).

The men – a 49-year-old and 28-year-old from Bradford, a 28-year-old from Leeds, and a 28 and a 32-year-old from Morley – were arrested on suspicion of being involved in a conspiracy to steal from vehicles in North Yorkshire and Humberside.

The men have been released under investigation

  10. Lunch hour? more like 15 minutes in Yorkshirepublished at 09:29 British Summer Time 26 April 2017

Will you be taking a lunch break today and if so for how long?

New figures show if you do take one it'll be a shorter break than workers in other counties.

    Stressed worker

Research carried out by Barnsley based organisation Team Activ, as part of their Wellness at Work Week, suggests an average lunch break for Yorkshire is 15 minutes, compared to 28 minutes nationally.

The group also list the most 'stressed out' towns and cities in Yorkshire in the following order:

    1. York
    2. Bradford
    3. Hull
    4. Leeds
    5. Sheffield

According to the reasearch only 16% of Yorkshire workers take a full hour for lunch and 5% don't take any lunch break.

Does this mean Yorkshire's 'out to lunch' for less time than everywhere else?

  11. Listen: Muslim teenagers 'targeted straight away' - Bradford campaignerpublished at 09:13 British Summer Time 26 April 2017

A campaigner who's been given an MBE for his work with ethnic minorities in Bradford says Muslim teenagers feel they're being unfairly targeted by anti-terrorism measures.

It comes as Bradford Council prepares to discuss how the government's Prevent strategy to tackle extremism is working in the city.

Preventing Violent Extremism - also known as Prevent - has been a government priority for more than a decade.

Doctor Abdul Bary Malik doesn't think enough's being done to solve the problems of far-right radicalism:

  12. Watch: Yorkshire's Wednesday weather - 'chilly with wintry showers'published at 09:03 British Summer Time 26 April 2017

    Lisa Gallagher
    Weather presenter, BBC Look North

Cloud will tend to thin this morning to leave a bright day with some decent spells of sunshine, especially in the west where some places could stay dry.

Fewer showers than Tuesday with any wintriness confined to higher hills.

  13. Listen: Rovers expect Marquis deal to be done quicklypublished at 08:51 British Summer Time 26 April 2017

    Andy Giddings
    Sports Editor, BBC Sheffield

It was a busy Q&A at Doncaster Rovers' Keepmoat Stadium last night.

Rovers fans will have been delighted to hear the positive way in which boss Darren Ferguson spoke about their chances of keeping top scorer John Marquis next season.

    Doncaster Rovers Q&A

Ferguson, along with club captain Andy Butler, fielded questions from supporters for an hour during the programme, which was broadcast live on BBC Radio Sheffield's Football Heaven.

  14. Talks fail to prevent Arriva Rail North strikepublished at 08:39 British Summer Time 26 April 2017

A 24-hour strike on Arriva Rail North will go ahead on Friday after the failure of talks to resolve a dispute over the role of guards.

Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union will walk out for the third time in a row over staffing for new trains due to come into service in 2020.

    Train

The union said it was "angry and frustrated" the company had rejected a proposal to invite Transport Department officials to join three-way talks in an attempt to reach a solution.

RMT general secretary Mick Cash said: "The sheer intransigence of Arriva Rail North means that the action this Friday goes ahead as planned.

"It is that flagrant disregard for the safety issues at the heart of the dispute which leaves us with no option but to press ahead with the campaign of strike action."

  15. Listen: Ten times the number of people on bikes in Calderdale?published at 08:32 British Summer Time 26 April 2017

Calderdale council wants to increase the number of people commuting to work by bike from 1% to 10% in a new strategy they'll discuss today.

Keith Finnett is the secretary of Pedal Sport Cycling club in Halifax and says the poor state of roads is the reason more people don't cycle:

The charity, Autism Plus in Sheffield, says employers don't appreciate what people with aspergers syndrome, dyspraxia, dyslexia, ADHD and autism can offer in the workplace.

They've organised the first ever Jobs Fair for people with 'Hidden Disabilities'.

One of the people facing such barriers is 28-year-old Sam Hawley from Sheffield.

Sam's applied for 500 jobs, but only had 10 interviews in four years:
