    A man has been charged with the murder of a 31-year-old man in Sheffield at the weekend.

    The body of Sami Khaled Saif Al-Sarsoor (pictured) was found with stab wounds on the Wensley Estate in Firth Park in the early hours of Sunday.

    A 21-year-old man has been charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon and is due to appear at Sheffield Magistrates' Court later.

    A couple from South Yorkshire are among the millions of people displaced due to the biggest Atlantic hurricane in recent history.

    Liz Jackson and Craig Guest, who are from Barnsley, were on holiday on the Caribbean island of Sint Maarten when the hurricane hit.

    Two young children who were killed in a crash on the M62 at Eggborough on Sunday 3 September have been named by North Yorkshire Police.

    Two month old Ahmadeesaa Motara and his sister, Asmaa Motara, aged 19 months who are from West Yorkshire were travelling in the car with their parents when it left the westbound carriageway.

    Their mother has been released from hospital and is recovering at home. The children's father - who is believed to be the driver - had minor injuries.

    Police are still appealing for witnesses to the crash. They're asking anyone with dash-cam footage which might help their investigation to get in touch.

    One family - who wish to remain anonymous - were clearing out a relatives house when they found these.

    The hoard is said to be worth tens of thousands and includes more than a hundred gold sovereigns. It's being sold at Boulton and Cooper in Malton.

    Paul Woollons, is one of the valuers there, he says he expects them to go for between £80,000 and £100,000.

    Planners have just approved the route which lorries can take to and from a fracking site in Ryedale.

    Third Energy has already said it expects to start moving equipment on to the site at Kirby Misperton anytime after tomorrow.

    A massive expansion of Meadowhall will be discussed today at a planning committee meeting.

    There are plans to add a £300 million leisure hall under a new glazed roof.

    People with dementia in South Yorkshire have been given GPS trackers to help find them if they get lost.

    Twelve people have been given the trackers so far, with South Yorkshire's emergency services planning to roll the service out to more people.

    This is 50 year old Andrew Taylor who has been missing from his home in Lindley, Huddersfield since yesterday morning.

    West Yorkshire Police are asking for help in trying to find him. They say they are concerned for his welfare.

    Officers say he has previously travelled long distances on foot and has links to the Leeds and Calderdale areas.

  11. Work on Yorkshire's new Boeing factory begins todaypublished at 09:01 British Summer Time 12 September 2017

    Work on a new aeroplane research and manufacturing site in South Yorkshire will officially begin today.

    Boeing is investing at least £20m in the new facility, which will be built next to an existing research centre at Sheffield Business Park.

    It'll make systems for commercial aircraft and is due to open next year.

    Top tip if you're thinking of pulling a wheelie on a moped on a public road - don't.

    And if you do it in front of a police car, expected to get pulled up for it.

    One moped rider on St Mary's Road in Rawmarsh didn't see the police car behind him when he thought it was a good idea.

    Police say they issued him with a ticket and he'll have to prove he's insured.

    An awards ceremony, held in memory of a Yorkshire health campaigner, is going to honour the NHS workers who helped in the aftermath of the Manchester arena bombing.

    Twenty-two people died in the attack in May including some from Yorkshire. The Awards for Compassionate Care were inspired by Doctor Kate Granger who campaigned for a more personal health service before she died from cancer last year.

    Her widower Chris Pointon is on the judging panel.

    Zef Eisneberg crashed last year at a high speed racing event at Elvington. He was riding at over 200 miles per hour, airlifted to hospital with eleven broken bones. He spent eighteen hours in theatre and three months in hospital and yet he wants to do it again.

    An electrician from Barnsley says he wants to return to Cuba to help people affected by Hurricane Irma.

    Six and a half million homes in Florida remain without electricity as the clean-up continues following the hurricane. About forty people in the Caribbean and at least three in the US are now known to have died because of the hurricane.

    Ian Ashmore, an electrician from Barnsley, was on holiday in Cuba earlier this year. He has decided to go back with his son and a friend to try to help.

    Parts of Cuba have been submerged in water for days.
