Bradford MP Naz Shah has criticised the government's anti terrorism project after a new report revealed it's dealing with a growing number of young people in Yorkshire.
In the area which covers Yorkshire, it examined 805 cases related to Islamic extremism while 159 were connected with Nazi-style ideologies between 2015 and 2016.
Nationally, over 7,500 were identified by the programme across the country during the 12 months covered by the figures.
However, the Prevent strategy has been criticsed by some who believe it is counterproductive and it can make young Muslims feel isolated and possibly more open to radicalisation.
Quote MessageIf you look at the Islamic extremism referrals more than 75% are no further action. If you've referred a child, a young person, and that turns out there's nothing they're doing that's wrong, then (that) is worrying for me"
Naz Shah, Labour MP for Bradford West

The floor-to-ceiling glass walls and partial glass floor hang over the gorge allowing visitors a rare, if mildly stomach churning, view.
More on the sentencing of three men who have been jailed for life following the murder of Raheem Wilks at Too Sharps’s barber shop in Harehills.
Jaydn Manners, 24, Keal Richards, 21, and Tremaine Wisdom, 29, were found guilty of his murder following a trial at Leeds Crown Court - an investigation linked the attack to the supply of Class A drugs in the area.
Detectives have revealed that they had no eye witnesses to the murder so they used phone records and social media to link the men to the crime.
This included a Snapchat message, which was retrieved with the help of US authorities, which showed Richards singing a rap song after the murder where the links referenced a shooting in a barber shop.
After the sentencing, police said Raheem Wilks had "everything to live for" but had made "certain choices in his life which took him into a world of criminality" however they added that this "in no way condones what happened to him".
Quote MessageHe was a son, a brother, and a father to a little boy, who sadly will have to grow up without his dad"
