    Not surprising then that most flights out are cancelled until at least 14:00 and arrivals are cancelled until 16:00 it seems., external

    The airport says that teams are working hard to get things moving again.

    Updated weather warnings have been issued by the Met Office.

    A Yellow "be aware" warning for heavy snow currently covers most of East Yorkshire and northern Lincolnshire.

    The more serious Amber "be prepared" warning currently covers parts of North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire and Lincolnshire:

    Leeds Bradford Airport have just confirmed no flights are taking off or landing at the moment, due to the amount of snow on the runway.

    Phil Forster, the airport's Aviation Development and Corporate Affairs Manager, says teams are working relentlessly to clear the snow and that at the moment it's not known when planes will be able to use the runway again.

    A van driver has died after a road crash on the A30 in Cornwall, police say.

    The small Peugeot van and a Massey tractor with a trailer carrying livestock crashed on the dual carriageway's westbound lanes near Bodmin just before 10:00 on Tuesday.

    Officers said the 40-year-old man from West Yorkshire was pronounced dead at the scene and his next of kin had been informed.

    ​The tractor driver was not injured, nor were any of the cattle he was transporting.

    The road was closed for an investigation and police have appealed for witnesses.

    More than 550 schools across Yorkshire have had to close today as a result of the wintry conditions.

    A weather warning remains in place across our region.

    A number of roads are also closed in North Yorkshire including the A59 Skipton Road and the A66, between Scotch Corner and New Road.

    In Holmfirth in West Yorkshire, the Woodhead-Holme Moss Road is also shut.

    On the trains in South Yorkshire services are at a stand stil on Virgin Trains East Coast Northbound, between Doncaster and York due to a track fault.

    Some hospital services are affected too. Harrogate hospital has asked staff on days off to come in to work and breast screening services have been cancelled today and tomorrow in Filey, Scarborough, Selby and Harrogate.
